DvD burning/ul to youtube?

Does anyone have any experience in burning videos off dvd's and could recommend software?  my goal is to ul these to youtube for our viewing pleasure.

somebody else will have to chime in about good formats/etc for upload to youtube.

I use dvddecrypter to rip a dvd to IFO, then autoGK to convert to .avi.

I used Nero Vision when I did it.  It's been a while, though.  I don't remember the exact steps it required.
