what's wrong with my Firefox?
« on: March 10, 2010, 11:52:03 am »
all of a sudden this morning my Firefox is moving so slow I can't even use it.  I tried clearing my cache and reseting my computer (the extent of my troubleshooting abilities) and that didn't help.  Chrome and IE both are moving fine.  any ideas?
That's some counterproductive 'pauging right there.

edit:  Because you actually need to read it all to understand.  Turn your attention span up past 3.49 seconds and you'll be fine.

n/m figured it out.  I was downloading a file which for some reason bogs this whole computer down which is why I don't use Firefox for that purpose here at work.. I don't understand that particular issue but it's not a big deal.

I was having issues with firefox as well and decided to spend some time sunday getting chrome to work like I wanted to instead of fixing firefox.  so far, so good.

did you recently upgrade a version of firefox (maybe automatically)?
that could be it.  I think the recent upgrade has some bugs in it.

edit:  even though you fixed it, go to chrome.

see post above.. yeah I keep meaning to fiddle with Chrome to see if I can like it as much but I fear change.

I spent a few hours a couple of weeks ago tweaking chrome to my liking and without even realizing I do practically everything on chrome now.  It's my default browser now.  I still keep firefox for some things like FlashGot and Check4Change.  But other than that it's chrome

I should just get over myself and realize that there is no privacy on the internet. But it's eerie knowing that every character i enter into the url bar is sent directly to, and archived by, google. Even if I don't hit the enter key. I'll trade chrome's extension support for whatever shred of extra privacy i get by using safari (which uses the same engine as chrome). Or Opera. Its new version is essentially as fast as chrome, and has some nice skins...
