I don't know.  when he came out a couple of years ago and all of a sudden had that power.  he was a doubles hitter and it is not unusual for a doubles hitter to eventually turn into a HR hitter but it at least made me suspicious.  obvious may not have been the correct term.  I will just say that I am not surprised if he is on the list.

Perhaps I am blinded by my love for the O's.  But I just don't see it.  Just cuz he's a yankee killer doesn't mean he juices.   :-D

from the way the report supposedly looks, maybe he got the steroids at yankee stadium.  I hear they weren't hard to get there.   :|

sorry Yankee fans.  I couldn't resist.

I remember one year Lenny Dykstra showed up at spring training about 20 lbs heavier and much more muscular. His avg went up about 20 pts and doubled his HR production. I would think that Howard Johnson from that era's Mets also was juiced based on a sudden surge in HRs

You think Brian Roberts is obvious?  It actually came as a bit of a shock to me.  He's not all that big and never has been.  He lost his power when he shattered his elbow.  I don't think it was due to juicing.  But I could be wrong

I was def. WRONG.  I stand corrected.   :|

I'm def not surprised Clemens was on The List.  he mirrors Bonds in his size increase (let's check his hat size and feet), and the unlikely stellar physical ability past 40.  throw in Pettite and all the other pitchers that are juicing and I have now reversed my opinion on roids.  Let em all take the shit if they want and shave the years off their lives...but their records should not count.  all these guys are frauds.

you've probably all seen this. It differs from the other one a bit - Veritek isn't on it (although it's from the Boston Globe)

and you know they missed a whole lot of corrupt players.  what's funny is they've got nothing in this report that would hold up in court.

yep. this is just who they caught.

I don't think the purpose was to prosecute. imo it was to define how big the problem is.

the one person I wonder about is Varitek.  he is the captain of the Sox and the report was done by Mitchell.  the only problem I have is that Mitchell is calling for independant drug testing but how independant was his report?  so many Yankees and no active Red Sox?

I suppose the point of the report was to address the problem.  I just find it very hard to believe that no active Red Sox names came up in the investigation.  this has nothing to do with love or hate for the Sox.  it has to do with whether this report passes the smell test and how independant was it?

but then again, why should I expect more from MLB.  I am a fan of an out of market team and buy either the MLB Extra Innings package through cable or mlb.tv every year.  I will no longer be purchasing any MLB products until baseball actually starts cleaning up the sport.  I will still be a fan, but they just won;t get my money anymore until they fix what they caused.
