The opener at my first show was MFMF.

It worked pretty well that night.   :rawk:

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Also, not mentioned, but obvious: Yamar

Hard to beat that one on a warm summer night @ an outdoor shed!

Agreed.  But lest we forget one of the greatest Yamar openers of all time, the Albany '97 Yamar.  On a cold winter night in a coliseum, lol.

Love Buried Alive a whole lot, but I think I'm have to go with a Sloth opener.

One of my fave tracks and I have seen it as an opener twice (first set once, second once) and I have to say, I don't like it as much when it starts out cold.  I like it to slam outta something in the middle of the set when it's least expected.  That said, I will take The Sloth in any slot (not literally, lol).

Hard to beat the PYITE -> Sloth 1-2 punch to open nye 95.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

A Sloth opener is really just a fantasy of mine. GTBT, Scent of a Mule, Glide, My Soul. Pretty much anything that chalked full of dark energy is a great opener. If I had to choose an opener off the newest album I'd probably go with Fuego or 555.

Yup. I picked The Curtain as my favorite opener, which was a weird call seeing as I've only seen it open once and they don't really play it. I think I was more thinking about how it slammed into Sloth the first time I saw it. Or how I love it slamming into Tweezer.

This thread got me looking at my stats. I was surprised to see 6 MFMF openers. Great tune!

Amen! Wolf Mountain 96 would be the moment I discovered that phenomenon.

Maze.  Albany 95 set the tone perfectly.

But honestly anything that catches me by surprise in a  good way.  i.e. no Crowd Controls.

Oh Kee Pa -> YEM Providence 98 was a treat.

WhatstheUse?

Bring in the dude!
