So I'm headed to Beijing, China for an international assignment with work for three months from April 18th until July 18th.  As you all know their internet is protected by "The Great Firewall."  On my work computer I have company VPN's for all over the globe but I don't feel comfortable using that same VPN on my personal laptop.  I mean they would probably never do anything but the thought of giving IT access to my personal laptop doesn't sound too smart.  So my question is: do any of you have any recommendations for VPN's for my phone and laptop?  (Again they cover my work phone so that will have VPN's from corporate but they also reimburse me for my personal phone so I want a private one for that as well)

Thanks in advance!

I don't know what sort of business you're in but, as an IT guy for a firm that values its data quite a bit, as long as I don't stumble upon kiddie porn while installing tools to access our system, I don't give a fuck what my end users have on their personal laptops. And really, you'd have to have a folder on your desktop that says, "Here's where I keep the highly illegal stuff" for me to notice.

I had a folder on my desktop called "not porn"

unfortunately it got deleted one night

You're probably right but the risk isn't worth it.  I'll be doing work with Chinese national oil companies so the possibility of being monitored is very high.
