Looks wild. LOL at Ghost being shorter than Tweezer Rep but I'll have to hear it to judge it.

Dude, it's the new whole band condensed jamming. There is so much happening now, you just got to listen better. It also helps if you slow down the tape by half speed, although admittedly the vocals get a little muddy. And don't give me this "I've already got this album" cause this version of Ghost is even shorter than the album version. People tonight should feel privileged to have caught such a rarity.

I had the time of my life tonight.

Felt like one of those few shows where the crowd/band interaction had a distinct impact on the playing.  That is why i see this band.

.....

.... wait....

Did they really just play a <4 minute ghosT?.......YIKES!

3:48 Ghost, didn't even know those existed.
Lot of songs played tonight, looks like they decided to play as many tunes left on the table as possible.

3 minute ghost
8 minute tweezer

That's like 12 minutes for two tracks that during any pre-3.0 tour would've accounted for (easily) 30-40 minutes worth of music.

Guess you had to be there:)

looks like it would have beena real fun 2nd set ala utica and ac2.
I haven't heard a note of this but this looks like it would have been great to catch.  not everything pre-hiatus was long jams.  they had fun on stage too.

BUT..........if anyone is ever near me at a show and they cut off ghost at 4 minutes, you probably want to exit the proximity real quick.  I don't think I'd handle that situation well.

I miss the jams too but I like that they throw in sets like this every once in a while (at least how it appears it will sound).  I give this show a positive from the paper setlist except for the short ghost.

Possum is a good, wild song for this band.  Its fun, jammy, and allows the energy to be pushed over the top.

An under-appreciated song I'll take any day.

I'm really curious though if Trey has been burning again...  because, after such time away, an innocuous hit or two can make a WORLD of difference in your way of looking at and observing things, especially with fretboard patterns on the guitar.

Probably as good as Berkeley. But not better.

Happy for all the paugers who got to see these. Hopefully they bring this energy to Colorado.

Best 3.0 run would be SBIX

UIC run has inverted flow (1st night being best, 3rd being weakest) so I'd never consider it for best run

But UIC 1 set 2 is far and away the best 3.0 set, for me

Regardless of the length of a few of those songs, they were on fire and tight as hell for almost all of the show.  Last few songs, something seemed up with Trey's fingers.  He had to seriously wipe them off at one point and he just didn't seem like was moving on the strings very well.

But the first 80% was on fire.

Forbins> Mockingbirg!!!  Holy shit, i have been chasing that for 70 shows.  And I felt as though they nailed it.

Major thanks to MBW for the hookup on the tix!~

Cant wait to hear how the recording turned out.

more proof that 3.0 is for stats padders.

great for 80 percent of the show?

youre just happy because you checked off forbins > bird, but you see enough 3.0 shows and youll fill up a stats sheet w/ peaches, forbins, harpua, alumni, etc.

but thats awesome that they played 80% of their songs well last night.  i'd still bet that they flubbed the ghost build up, if they even made it that far in the song before they ripcorded it for trey's new makisupa comedy bit.

I don't give two shits about stats.  I always wanted to hear it.  And they played it well.  I go for the music, not the Phish rep that I saw "x" amount of songs.  The whole show was great, but you could tell something was funny with his hands near the end of the second set.  Encore was great again, though.
I was just as excited for Divided Sky as I was Forbins.

I had a great time.  The music was great.  Trey's fingers seemed like they were getting sticky.  It was humid as hell in there and you could tell something wasn't right with his movement up and down the fretboard.

Way too many people on the fluffer team, which means you would have to be around more people.  We have 5-6 people on our team tops.  Way better odds of your current teammates leaving you to your own devices.

yeah, I'll be back.  but this past 3 day run is the first time in a while I said to myself "I wish I did that run."
obviously, you can still hate on it but people hated on them in their prime too.  I need to listen to the shows but it at least appears on paper that these were more desirable shows to go to.

Long song length = best song evah!

I had fun.  The band had fun.  The music was great.

Sorry my opinion isn't the 'right' one about 3.0.  Don't get me wrong, I love 1.0, but I have accepted the place  :phish: is right now and I am enjoying it.

On a separate note, the beginning jam into No Quarter was badass.  They were on a different level at that point.

is everyone done crying about ghost now?  good.
check out some of the rest of this great show.

k.thanx.bai.

i'd be hating on the 3:36 caspian too if i thought people would take me seriously.  but in all seriousness, its just as ridic as the ghost, imo.  but i know that too many people here would joke that ripcord caspian was the best decision made all show.

but, for me, no, i cant stop harping on the ghost.

cant wait til they bust out the album version of yem, maybe theyll dust off union federal to balance the reactions between the haters and the stats padders.

My question is how are we supposed to pad stats so quickly if they DONT play such short songs. I mean, I'm not tryin to spend money on tickets and travelling around just to only catch a few songs - I need to do this to hear at least 2-3 straight albums every night so I can make cool spreadsheets (although 30-second samples would be better).

I will admit however, that sometimes I wish songs were longer because I often find myself distracted at shows for minutes at a time while taking retro looking pics of my feet from my iphone, then posting them to FB, linking that on twitter, saying hi to grandma (she's surprisingly young), then seeing the FB newsfeed update with someone else's post that says "WOO I CAUGHT (insert songname)" then realizing that they are at the show I'm at and I missed the last song and didn't update my charts. What a fucking dilemma.

My gripe would be that, given their obvious in-the-zone-ness of the previous nights, why they would ditch on a chance for Ghost jamming.  I'm just not sure I understand at all why they would do that.  Same with Caspian... the jams in Caspian have been way neat lately.

I mean, i think they were going for a 2/20/93 deal, but....  i donno

i would say to not think like this... since i don't think the band is thinking like this.

in their mind they didn't "miss a chance" for ghost jamming...

Actually, the only thing bad about this pull is that it makes me jonesed that you didn't tape the first two nights....Been lazy and just dl'ing LP releases this whole summer.....I have to go back and search out some good auds for the other two nights and some of the other shows this summer.....listening to your pull reminds me that I have always preferred audience sources...I especially am enjoying the quiet parts like the part between Crosseyed and No Quarter and Sleep......

theres still Colorado, though!!!

i'm wondering if the whole anti-jam/Crosseyed 2nd set is a statement to the fans.......  have you guys noticed that they finally screen and edit the LP show 'review' area?

i mean, as of yesterday, these shows only had like, 1 or 2 pages of comments.....

why does the band need to make a "statement" to the fans.  do you honestly think the band reads any of those comments?

if anything, someone from the team at large probably pulls 5-10 stupid/funny ass quotes from the comments and then they read a few and have a good laugh at all the idiots posting stupid shit.

ok, so finally got through this one.

extremely well played show for sure.  while there was once again a lack of deep jams, the jams that were on display were well done.  the set had a nice flow to it.  sure i would have liked the ghost to have been at least 5 minutes longer, but whatevs.  like i said the set flowed real nice.

still my least favorite of the three nights.  i'd put it in order as 2nd, 1st, 3rd.  and the run as a whole is better than anything in 2011, and ranks up there will anything from 3.0 overall.  there was lots of energy, good flow, and they were having fun.  well done phish... NO BUILD ON IT!

highlights of the run IMO were DWD, waves>undermind and c&p>no quarter

The only tune missing from the 3 nights - and one that I'm still chasing - is Simple. I mean we had skyscrapers for cryin out loud. Would have been a nice replacement for some of those 2nd set queefs. I'm not complaining at all about the shows though. Music was awesome
