I need a 3:06 right now.
But by the time my Fall race rolls around, I'll need a 3:11 to guarantee a spot.
I got that.

gah

Insane time, and negative split taboot! Congrats man, and I'm sure you got the Boston qualifier this fall fo sho!
Sometimes we live no particular way but our own.

Rocked a hilly 8K yesterday in 31:18/6:18p
Third year straight snagging 1st in my Division, too!

Got a few weeks of some short races and maintaining a solid Marathon base.
Need a little more work before my Fall race in order to qualify for Boston.
Boston 2020 or bust!!!

which race are you going to use for your qualifier?

Steamtown Marathon in Scranton.
I need a 3:11 to guarantee a spot (AG is 3:15), but I'll be shooting for sub-3:10.

You could've made us proud Aug... you really could've....

I know you're 3-peating races left and right these days but c'mon! This was OUR chance! Think of us little guys! Isn't 5k like a walk to the mailbox these days?

eta. Wait... shit... you get paid to walk to mailboxes... bad example...
Bring in the dude!

Top 3 times from the OG Run Jim we're all in the 15s
I have a feeling it'll be an even speedier field this year.

If mattstick is sporting the headband, he may have a chance.
He's gonna need some performance enhancers though.

that's pretty quick, good luck!!!

btw do you use the HR data from the Garmin to help you train? I typically go on how I feel. I got it as a gift for the holidays and have using it for tracking, timing, pace setting etc but not that part yet.

I have the Forerunner 220 which doesn't have the HR.
I think it would just be one more number to think about, so I'm ok with not having that feature ;)
A lot of my triathlete friends do a bunch of HR specific workouts.
Just like you, I generally just train on feel.
