WhatstheUse?

I'm with PG in that I give Quincy Jones the majority of credit for how Thriller sounds.

Unlike PG -- I think it's a way better record than Highway 61.
Bring in the dude!

I would have voted Dylan had he also invented a culturally phenomenal dance to go with one of the songs.

Perhaps the Strike Breaker Boogie or the Hobo Hop.

Tensions running high as march madness continues into April!

::shakes fist in air menacingly in uncleebs' direction screaming..."I swear to God if one of these old dudes has a heart attack, I'm gonna have rj ban you!"::

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

Writing, perhaps. Arranging and creating the sound? Nope. Jones is responsible for how that album sounds. I stand by that statement.

My link, read it.

yeah yeah - and Los Lobos wrote all of Graceland.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

keep fighting the good fight, Pie Guy.

Highway 61 is so much better than Thriller my brain hurts thinking about it.

i have a good stress relieving chant that will calm the brain.
repeat after me, slowly building in tempo:

Mama-say....     mama-sah      ......    ma-ma     ....coo-sah

Mama-say.... mama-sah.... ma-ma-coo-sah

Mama-say mama-sah ma-ma-coo-sah
Hoo! Hooo!

MJs idea of deep and thoughtful lyrics
"toss away stuff you don't need in the end
but keep what's important, and know who's your friend"
"It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

13 people are wrong on this thread.
I haven't looked at the bracket in full but thriller may be a finals candidate

I've been trying to get my dylan-inspired dance to catch on, but "the titanic sails at dawn" is not catching fire on the dance floor.  Perhaps I should work on developing my B-plan Dance "the sun ain't yellow, it's chicken"-dance

Dylan may not have had a fancy dance but he did inspire an entire generation of rock an rollers to write their own songs.
