As much as I miss Lucky Louie, I'm kinda glad it got pulled because Louie is immensely more creative and original to me.

Agreed.  I loved Lucky Louie, the whole "live audience sitcom" thing made it that much more hilarious, but Louie is genuinely funny without anything "gimmicky".  The one thing Louie needs to borrow from Lucky Louie is more Jim Norton.
