cool....didn't realize that Jim McCarty (of PRS pickups fame) played with JH

lots of Jimi on LL, especially recently
"toss away stuff you don't need in the end
but keep what's important, and know who's your friend"
"It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

After mining a few sweet torrents at Cross Town, I came across a very good Hendrix show from 8May1970 Norman, OK.  Arguably the best version of Machine Gun recorded, this excellent outing features a Hey Baby influenced intro.
Many have expressed this show as being the very best Aud. recording from Jimi's 1970 Cry of Love tour featuring a fusion of Jimi's Experience w/ Mitch Mitchell on drums and Band of Gypsys bassist Billy Cox utimately replacing Noel Redding.

continuing the Hendrix train, here is an interesting Spanish Castle Magic Aud w/ a Third Stone From the Sun jam from 3May1969 Toronto, Ontario, hours after Jimi was busted passing through Canadian customs.  although the incident certainly was a drawback for Hendrix, it didn't diminish his performance that night as this somewhat short but riveting version reflects:

reviewed  :syf: Oct.72 this week, although not as good as Nov. and Sept. it certainly has its moments such as this stellar Dark Star from 28Oct.1972 Cleveland, OH.  The band literally lifts off about 5 minutes in w/ everyone putting forth tremendous energy.  Check it:

How about the B-Day edition of susep's corner?  An obvious selection to mark this momentous occasion is none other then this tit ripping version of You Enjoy Myself from 14March1993.  Sure the YEM from Albany May '93 often gets high regard but is way overrated imho, this one from Gunnison, CO. takes it big time.  Best of the year(93)?  Let your ears decide:
