^pretty much sums what happened after listening to this show.
Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

YEAH.  I relistened and caught that as well.  Fucking definitive version of Dark Star in my opinion.

Wasn't sure whether to post this in here or in the RIP Bear thread, but I thought this was interesting...

I'd rather dwell in some dark holler where the sun refuses to shine, where the wild birds of heaven can't hear me when I whine.

Thought this might be of interest to some.

It's a brief bit about the collation of show lists back in the pre-deadbase days...

VERY interesting.  Thanks for sharing.  Did not have time to finish but it is very cool.  BTW, what is the last installment of Deadbase.  I have Deadbase II (which is about 3/4" thick!) and VI, I think (bought it new in '90 or 91).  I would like to get the latest version, but I would assume they are hard to come by now.

Deadbase XI was the last per this: http://deadbase.com/books/books.html

You can get Deadbase X here: http://www.dharmarose.com/stores/store_deadbase.html

You are right... they get pretty damn steep: http://goo.gl/d1ny1

Guess I'd better take care of my hardcover Deadbase X

PIE-GUY

Kinda reminds me of the old Helping Phriendly book... I ftp downloaded a copy from netspace back in like 1993 or 94 and printed a few copies spiral-bound copies for friends at our college print-shop. I still have a copy somewhere.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

I have a soft cover DeadBase VI, the cover is pretty ratty.

I love my Deadbase IX.
i find it the best version.
only goes through 94, but it has the Jerry Base. Which i believe was the last time it was included.

Didn't know there was a hardcover. I would like IX just for the Jerry Base for sure. Forget which one I saw somewhere but it had Bobby shows too. Prolly the same one. I have a Hfb from 92 from rec.phish. It has dates, lyrics and tablature.  I think the one I have is dated like 10/17/92. It was a godsend when we got that as the gd list in that article must have been.

LOL

Seriously, though, my wife likes the Grateful Dead.
