Phish
Saturday, 10/08/1994
Patriot Center, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
Soundcheck: It's Ice, Mound, Funky Bitch
Set 1: Chalk Dust Torture, Horn > Sparkle > Down with Disease, Guyute, Fee > It's Ice, Lawn Boy > Run Like an Antelope
Set 2: Also Sprach Zarathustra > Sample in a Jar, Rift > Mike's Song -> Simple -> Mike's Song > I Am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove, Fluffhead > Purple Rain > Hold Your Head Up, Harry Hood, Suzy Greenberg
Encore: Foreplay/Long Time, Rocky Top

Nerd fan correction alert!

Just read this write up and I feel I must point out that Guyute did not feature whistling until Halloween 1995.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

No one did a thing for yesterday, but 10-07-2000.
The last time Phish sounded "normal" to me.
Also caught 10-07-94 and 10-07-99, both of which contain a ton of songs.
Also, the Maze from '94 is insane!

from the book of face....a day late but can still reminisce

"It was fifteen years ago today that Phish ended the longest era of being a band and took a hiatus. While it didn't have any Coventry-esque breakdowns (perhaps due to the fact that they were intentionally not calling it a final show, but just a break), it was an emotional night, especially when the lights came back on after the YEM encore - an appropriate end to that era - and the PA played Let It Be. It's not often that people remember the post show music, but that moment is imprinted in many people's memory forever."

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

I'll never understand why I attended 10/6/00 and not 10/7.

I guess I should just blame it on my girlfriend at the time.

In any event, 10/7 is a great, great show and so consistent that you really can't point to much in the way of highlights, it's just front to back an outstanding performance and summation of 1.0.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

21 years today!

Was this the poster for the event??

It was a flyer handed out by fans as I walked into the Pat Center.
That's a scan of my copy which I still possess.
heh i remember that
-I'm still walkin', so i'm sure that I can dance-

WhatstheUse?

I've always dug 10/7 although, like Hicks said, nothing really stands out. Just a solid Phish show.. Kinda like that Alpine Valley '00 Live Phish release.

Funny how Aug said this was the last time Phish sounded 'normal'. The difference between 1.0 and 2.0 is pretty... apparent. I wonder what they would've sounded like had they played through...

Also, it's interesting that 2.0 is lumped into its own "era" when it only lasted a year and a half! 3.0 has been 6 years strong already! Imagine if it had ended after summer 2010!!!
Bring in the dude!

"I used to be 'with it', but then they changed what 'it' was and now what I'm with isn't 'it' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me"

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.
