Thanks, guys.
It's kinda nice knowing that I have the cardio strength to just run 13 miles "cold."
Gonna run the LI half in 5 weeks with better results.
Also, I've never been this sore EVER.

Nice work Aug.

Nice one, Aug!

Anyone have a good road running mix to share? I need to reload my iPod this week.

You're entitled to your opinion but I'm going to laugh at it.

Anyone here run in Newtons?
Went to pick up my bib for this weekend's race and copped a pair at the expo.
Usually $160 for $65 on last year's models.
My first non-Nike purchase in over ten years!

They LOOK fast!

Official time of 1:56:02/8:51p for today's race.
Felt good and prepared.
Was gunnin' for 1:57, so I'm happy with my results.
And chaffed the fuck up

Ran the Long Beach 10.118 this AM in 1:24/8:22.
Happy with my time considering how crazy windy it was and that I've only ran twice since my half last month.
Now it's time to drink!
Just kidding. Putting shelves up in the nursery.

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

5K this AM
22:48 (7:23).
I actually didn't know they were having this and ran 5 miles yesterday and the day before
Regardless, 2nd for age (there apparently is a benefit to being a part of the 50 - 60 age group)

Hey guys, congrats on the times and races, encouraging running through the thread.
Just starting to run myself, lot easier without the extra 85 pounds, knees didn't like it when I was 275.

Any suggestions on sites about technique and training?  I want to run 5k this summer and then a local charity 7 miler with a friend in the fall.  Feel like I am way too much on my heels.   Able to go out and do about 3.5 miles without issue, pace is slow 8:35/mi last 2 runs.

Thanks for any help.
