Don't change your stride.
Unfortunately, many runners deal with Plantar.
Some run through it and some rest.
Inserts will help, but you might want to look into shoes (like the Hoka Clifton) that will give you more of a cushion.

Igbo

Thanks Aug! I'll look out for those shoes

sls.stormyrider

agree - don't change your stride. I have VERY flat feet and pronate. I had to get prescription orthotics. I could not run without them. I wear them all the time.  A while back, I asked my podiatrist about toe - heel. He said there are other problems with that, too and recommended I continue heel - toe.

A good running store will be able to check your mechanics. Depending upon what the inserts do, you may do better off with a stability shoe or a neutral shoe. I used to run in stability shoes, but when I got my orthotics changed (after a bad case of PF) my podiatrist recommended a neutral shoe, and my mechanics are fine. As long as I stretch my calves, I have no problem.

Been having a pretty great season of racing thusfar.
We close out our LI State Park Series each year at Jones Beach with a 5M.
Brutally hot this year! Anyway, here's a pic of me finishing in a lot that we all have been in.

I'm getting deep into Marathon training (3 in 5 weeks!!) and I'm feeling pretty fresh!!!!

I get it now.  this running business is just a way to compensate for a lack of Phish 3.0 stats.
you're just a stats guy.
but seriously, nice work.  you inspire me to get off my ass and just get a half marathon done.  then I can dream of a marathon.

This.

Yep!
3 weeks btw Hartford and Suffolk. Plenty of recovery time.
Pretty much just taper weeks again.
NYC is the following weekend. I did consecutive weekends last season and it wasn't bad at all.
