So, I'm not sure if there was a thread for this, but I am coming to the end of a contract with a protection provider and need some feedback. I have been using Trend Micro Titanium for a few years and have had no problems, but my mom just switched because she still got a virus. She has switched to Webroot, which is a free virus scanner that you download from the website. Has anyone used this, or have an opinion either way?

I use Trend Micro at work.
It's pretty good about containing the bugs that our users stumble upon.

No AV system will be perfect. I do think that a windows user should take care to use some protection and keep it up to date.

I use AVG.  Avira is good too.  Both free.

Awesome, thanks for the advice, guys.

malware bytes is a good one too. saved my ass when I had a pc. The IT guys at work use it also.
It used to be free, not sure about now

Another AVG user here.  Haven't had a problem since I switched a few years ago.

I got a virus on a work computer a couple of years ago in an unfortunate Two Girls, One Cup incident. Anytime I googled anything the top results were larger than usual thumbnails of porn clips. The work IT guys scanned it but couldn't find anything. I installed AVG and it was resolved instantly. Been with them ever since.

For your disgusting scat needs, trust AVG.

well boys, we fucked up by not being there.

I use Comodo Internet Security......not free afaik, but solid.....the permissions and traffic rules are stellar, plus I like having a sandbox to run programs in till I deem them safe.....

Only gripe: Resource hog.
Who's the Marmar? I'm the Marmar!!!

Phish doesn't write beautiful music...the beautiful music happens after the written parts.

<gainesvillegreen> now, if they could get their sound to be as good as the lights, we'd have a band hee-yah!!

Music is what feelings sound like.
