Listened today, this is a new one for me.  I'm familiar with a lot of shows from 11/72, but I've missed this one.  This Other One kicks ass.....I'm going to stream the rest of the show right now.  Thanks Susep...

played the rest of the show up until TOO last night....still have the Stella and rest to follow, but the China-Rider and the Candyman are great, as is the Bird Song.  What a great tour this was, they were blowing doors (and minds)  every night.......

indeed, I finished uploading October and half of Dec. to the ipod for this week's listening.  I read where the 26Oct.72 Playing is a mind blower as well as the DS's from 18 and 28Oct.  But you're right, they were blowing minds, including mine 36 years later. :syf:

reviewed  :syf: Oct.72 this week, although not as good as Nov. and Sept. it certainly has its moments such as this stellar Dark Star from 28Oct.1972 Cleveland, OH.  The band literally lifts off about 5 minutes in w/ everyone putting forth tremendous energy.  Check it:

Revisted Dec. '72 this week but also checked out a new seed from 1968 I got from the Bus over at bt, a nice, day-glo show from 7Dec.1968 Louisville, KY.  By this time the LiveDead suite Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven > Lovelight had become a nightly showcase but special sequences abound such as this series from Bellarmine College:

been listening to this sequence a few times today at work, very nice, surreal Dark Star(which is what this tune is all about) but what seperates the good versions is how much they glow and this one certainly does that and more, a must listen.  another interesting anamoly is the Eleven, during the Phil breakdown the jam suddenly fades out, you can hear Pig say something like, fade it out, perhaps a broken string or technical issue?  Either way great Dec. listening in this bone chilling weather.  Let it warm you up!

In honor of turning the New Year lets celebrate Hendrix style w/ 2 of my favorite Band of Gypsys tracks.  Out of the four sets played by the Gypsys on 31Dec.1969 - 1Jan.1970, generally I prefer the first night sets featuring these two awesome cuts.

The 31Dec.69 early show featured all new Hendrix, never heard originals such as this kick-ass delta influenced blues, Hear My Train A' Comin:

Out of the 4 versions of Machine Gun played over those shows, the version from the 31Dec.69 late show is my favorite, an amazing showcase of Jimi's then "new" sound w/ very distinct delta like signals:

I believe we can seed Jimi as long as its not officially released/licensed i.e. Live at the Fillmore East et al.  For ex. I got these two tracks off a SBD bootleg, probably from the same set as yours.

just wondering...I never see any Jimi on Etree....either way, good picks.  I love the machine gun (s) played on this night....
