I think that all though they aren't where I though they would be when 3.0 started, that 2011 was a much better year than the previous 2.  I do however wish that they had done a fall tour in 2011!

Voted 2009. More consistent I think, and I consistently go back and listen to 2009 more than the others. Trey's tone during early 2009 has never been reproduced for me either.

I do like the Berkeley through East Troy section of 2010 very much however.
Dysfunction and itemized lists of people's failures are where it's at.

2009.  They peaked at Hampton and have been tumbling ever since that run.  (kidding 3.0 fluffers don't get your panties in a wad).
Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

I voted 2011 since it seems the whale is an endangered species now, and it really seemed to me like they connected a lot more on stage which led to more variation even if they only jammed for a couple of minutes here and there in a set (I'll take what I can get).

Oh, and 2011 didn't have any TTE's.

I still think 2nd leg of Summer '09 has had their best jamming in 3.0(Shoreline DwD, SPAC BDTNL to name a couple).

Back when there was still hope and an excuse for the rust... 2009

2009 was by far the coolest.

hampton, fenway, 4 nights at red rocks, bonaroo, festival 8, new tunes....

i had high hopes.

this is the way i'd put it too. it was the coolest. and the hopes were high.

and though i too thought the second leg of summer '10 had some great stuff, all told '11 was better. fall '10 is the lowest low point so far. there's still some tiny bit of hope for improvement, right?

right?

bueller?

2011.

Trey barely remembered how to play his guitar in 2009.  His playing is much more fluid now.

You're entitled to your opinion but I'm going to laugh at it.

I might be inclined to agree. RR -> Gorge felt like a quantum leap past leg 1.
