I remember hearing very crispy soundboards of this show a week after they played this run, back when that was a big deal. Thanks Healy!

This was the show that Healy got fired for leaking the board patches for snow.....

Wow.  That was an hour-plus rabbit hole I'm glad I dug into.  Listening to that Chapel Hill show now, that Jack Straw is fucking dope and the GDTRFB is off the hook too.  Real nice.

Still prefer the OG Sunshine though ;)

Definitely a multifaceted build up of tension. Regardless, Healy was a major loss to the GD. My first FOB show was Hamilton '92 on the lighting bolts or sperms, I can't remember now, but OMFG I've never heard sound like that. It was unbelievable. Took me two years to find my way down into the Phil Zone. I may be weighting my bias for that night over many other nights of great sound, but I never heard the GD like that again.

That's what a lot of people say.  I only saw one Healy-run show, and it was DSO at the Palace in Albany.  I didn't like it, because he was HARD with the stereo panning.  I was on John's side, and you couldn't hear Rob at all.  If you moved to the center, though, suddenly there he was.  Very weird.

This must have been around 2007 or 2008 before John left the band.  Was a good show, and sounded great otherwise, but i remember being put off by the way he placed the instruments.

Back to Chapel Hill, that Jack Straw is a fucking heater!!!
