some say this lacks flow, i think it's a statement.  they fucked some faces tonight.

caught the stream until it died during free, and i was digging that second set.  and that encore looks  on paper.

i'm also getting anxious for friday night in providence.

may not look as h3tty as 10/16 but a fine looking show nonetheless.

Torn and Frayed, Gumbo, JJLC(still have not seen this live  :frustrated:), Nellie Kane and Gin make for a fun and unique first set imo

2nd gets more of the 3.0 treatment but with the encore like that, FYF to open and a Mikes groove, sign me up

When was it last played? Been awhile hasn't it>? Well, I checked out phish.net and I guess you're right. Played 6 times last year and 4 so far this year. Last time before the reunion show was in 2000. I've never seen it. Glad they do it!!

Wooooohhooooooo!

What a night!

Highlights were easily Light and Reba.  The Reba was Fucking awesome.  Totally left Reba territory and went dark type 2 for a bit
Spent most of the show with Redrum, mbird, birdman, pieguy and crew, and got to chill with susep (great to finally meet you!) Mehead and Undermind second set.

PAUGUSTA, FTMFW!

Never, never, never miss a show in Maine on a tuesday night.
Had a blast with the Paug crew. The boys sounded great. Really enjoyed the Mikes, Light, and Reba. Nice to hear JJLC and Nellie Kane again as well.
REALLY looking forward to the next week of shows
Time for work now.

Interesting Reba, reminds me a little bit of that 9/21/99 version.

Personally I don't think the FYF/Mike's stuff worked all that well, but I think FYF is stupid.

It's not a very well developed "song", it's more of a riff with a couple of words attached to it.
Either Trey plays it poorly on purpose, or he can't play a pretty simple riff.

I'd have rather heard them nail the Mike's Song riff at the end than reprise FYF.

It was great kickin' it with mehead, susep and a couple of their friends throughout the day.  I wish I had made it to meeting Pie-Guy, RR, and Mbird and seen Birdman again but it just wasn't happening at setbreak.  It took me most of it to go get a beer and use the bathroom.  It was great that  :wtu: made it down to where mehead, susep, and I were on the floor for the beginning of the 2nd set.  It was great for me where we were on the floor as I was able to hang with a lot of my non paug friends as well as susep and mehead.  I wish you guys had made it up earlier to the venue.  Hopefully we can hang out before Manchester for a few!  I wanted to go see bvaz at the taper's section and never made it there either.

Anyway...as has been previously posted the Gin and Reba were definite highlights.  I like that they played some rarities in the 1st set like JJLC (my first) and Torn and Frayed.    Nellie Kane was fun as always and 46 Days  :rockout: :rockout:  The FYF caught me off guard.  Mike's Song brought the heat.   I like that they pushed boundaries in Light and most of it was quite enjoyable, but Trey was a little off at some points I thought.  I'll have to re listen.  I loved that they played FEFY as the 2nd set slow down song and not Joy or Wading.  Hailey's was fun but short  :frustrated:  This Free was better than most of the recent versions I think.  It wasn't a 95 Free or anything but Gordon was killing it.  I liked what they did in Hood and Golgi is Golgi.  I though the Civic Center was going to take off at the end of ADITL.  I'd say all in all this show was up there with Hartford '09 and Portland '09 as the best show I've seen in 3.0.

yeah, it was tought o leave to tapers section last night show because people start to figure out it is a good place to stand because you get a good view, although the crowd was great last night.

gin was good.  46 days was the highlight of the 1st set.  JJLC was a nice treat.
FYF is definitely cool if you are there, even if you aren't the biggest fan and it just set the tone for the set that mike was going to own.  the mike's was good and he light was good.  the transition wasn't painful at least.  the end of light was great with kuroda adding so much to it and then twenty years later 3.0'd it.  although it wasn't as painful as it could h  always happy with a fefy.ave been.  was hoping they took halley's out there but they went quickly to free.  page had a nice section in hood that trey quickly botched it.  aditl was a very nice ending to the set.
the reba encore was just a complete shock in a great way.  nice to get the 2nd song in #line too as they played pretty much right up to curfew.

it was a good show.  the place was tiny.  it was nice to see a show in a place like that.  sound was good in there.  I rank it as best show I've seen so far in the fall tour.

Nice! How did the tapes come out?
listened on the drive home last night and tracking now.  sound ok.  I'll throw it on btree later this afternoon.

someone ran FOB last night.  curious to how that sounds.  it looked crowded up there.

Phish fans pack Augusta Civic Center
'It's the camaraderie,' says one of the band's many enthusiasts

AUGUSTA -- They ranged from exotic to wholesome.

They were young. And old.

They hooted and hollered. Drank beer. Smoked a little pot. Hung out. Made new friends. And together went Phishing.

Their reward?

A rousing performance by the Vermont band Phish.

The Augusta Civic Center was packed tight with concertgoers Tuesday night.

When band members came on stage for their opening song around 8:30 p.m., an hour later than scheduled, the crowd roared.

The band started to play and a top-class light show switched on. Pulsing strobe lights illuminated a sea of heads bobbing in rhythm down on main floor.

"Thank you, Augusta!" one concertgoer screamed when he walked in and saw the crowd.

Many were shocked to hear Phish actually booked a show in Augusta. They usually play in big city arenas.

Elaura Patten, a 21-year-old Colby College student, said Phish said it was good for businesses in the Augusta area.

Her friend, Lori Mervin, 22, also a student at Colby, said "I think it's just great. It's wonderful to have some good music. There's some great vibes here. It's going to be a raging show."

Sandy Runnels, 48, of Dover-Foxcroft, said this was the 70th Phish concert she's attended.

She especially enjoyed the goings on in the parking lot before the doors open. People were milling around, listening to music, enjoying a little tailgating with friends and buying wares from vendors, a standard at any concert.

"It's the camaraderie," Runnels said. "There's a lot of people of the same like mind, a little on the outskirts of normal. It's being all together at a show like this with the music that's fantastic."

Josiah Babcock came early to be first in line for the Phish concert.

Babcock, 37, of Westbrook has been arriving at concerts ahead of everyone else since college when he followed the Grateful Dead band.

"I'm a front-row junky, a rail rat is the technical term I guess," Babcock said Tuesday. "I really enjoy being in the front row. There's no distraction. Nothing between me and the band."

He sat in his webbed lounge chair as he waited in line surrounded by a cooler, a grocery bag of snacks so he wouldn't get hungry, a tiny radio playing tunes and pink flamingos.

The radio advertising salesman for WBLM and WCYY got out of his chair to tie his flamingos to the top of the metal fence erected in front of the Civic Center for the ticket line.

Flamingos have been his trademark for the 45 Phish concerts he's attended since his college days. He said members of the band are phenomenal musicians, but their music never really "touched his soul like the (Grateful) Dead."

"I'm a deadhead who enjoys Phish," he said.

At 2 p.m., Phish fans were allowed to line up for the concert.

Jesse Ferry with Crowd Management Consultants said people were trying to line up at 7 a.m.

"They came earlier in the day, but we told them to come back at 2 o'clock," Ferry said. "They wanted to make sure they get the best seats, front and center."

Brian Gallant, 27, and his high school friend, Gerard Tardiff, decided at the last minute to drive up from Portland to see if there were any tickets left, which there were.

Gallant, an insurance agent, said he has been a fan for years, but never had the opportunity to see Phish in concert.

"I've always wanted to see Phish. They're a band of our generation," Gallant said. "And to think I have a chance to see them. That they're back is amazing. I'm really glad. I hear they're on fire."

"Nearly every CD they put out, I like the whole track, not just one or two songs," Tardiff said. "I'm sure we'll be bouncing around the room."

John Panakio partied in the parking lot with friends who arrived in Maine from Woodstock, N.H., in a small caravan. The 21-year-old cook said he attended four Phish concerts over the summer.

"I like the music, and the atmosphere is cool," Panakio said. "It's just fun. And the shows are always changing. You don't know what's going to happen next."

Dozens of venders lined the back parking lot with makeshift canopies.

Bobbie Bane, 36, of West Gardiner and her 27-year-old friend Mary Slater of Bethel had organic T-shirts and sweatshirts for sale.

They said they do the best business at Phish shows, better than any other concert.

"There's a lot more people with money at Phish shows," Slater said.

Peter Stevens, a 37-year-old banker from Belfast, and his friends were in the hotel parking lot next to the Civic Center enjoying a few beers before the show.

Stevens, a musician, said the band had a big influence on his music.

"That's one of their strengths," Stevens said. "They're so good they teach you things musically. They have so many different styles that maybe you wouldn't be familiar with."

Stevens said he enjoys Phish concerts, but also the fans, a multicultural group that include throwbacks to the 60s with their tie-dyed shirts and long flowing skirts.

"They're very caring," Stevens said of Phish fans. "You won't see any fighting or violence here. They're altruistic. Phish kids are conscientious and respectful of people."

Interesting Reba, reminds me a little bit of that 9/21/99 version.

Personally I don't think the FYF/Mike's stuff worked all that well, but I think FYF is stupid.

haven't listened to this particular version but i like FYF and am glad that they are messin around with it in some interesting ways at least on paper

I basically agree with Matt...I don't really dislike FYF, and would like to catch it at some point, but it is a novelty at best....

I agree that it's not really a "real" song...

But it's def fun - I like the main riff a lot, really dark - its just so mike, which I love.

I really like the potential of the placement of FYF here. I can't comment on how I thought it worked because it's still downloading. I'll toss in my two cents eventually I'm sure... but how do you hate the Monkey?!  ;)  I've always been a fan though when it's played well.

It's stupid.

Also, it's dumb.

Also, also Home on the Range is not a good song either.

Also, also, also Paul McCartney rolls over in his grave every time they play it.

So............you aren't a fan?  :-)

Listened to the first set this morning and the FYF/Mike's business. Chalk/Back worked well as a 1-2 opener, Back is one of those songs I wasn't thrilled about when it was written, but has grown on me over time, and I always like seeing one now. Gin didn't impress right off the bat, I'll give it another listen. Sounded thin on tape. Jesus is a nice treat (didn't the northeasters get this song last fall too? I'd have to look). Nellie Kane is a step up from Uncle Pen, mostly because it centers around Page.

46 Days continues to bring the energy. IMO, it is one of the songs of 2010, and the song of this first set. I can't think of a bad one. Trey gets down around the 3:30 mark.

Thrilled Peter Stevens got his favorite cover of Possum in the closer slot.

The FYF > Mike's > FYF I think I like better in theory than in practice (is FYF in C# minor?). The first tease Trey plays at the beginning of the jam is pretty good, and I *LUV* that he is being playful - shows confidence - but the Mike's proper is a disaster (sorry, attendees, I would have been dancing right there with you, or scratching my head), and the final FYF reprise is forced and terribly misarticulated (like so many 2009 Lights). Should have just let that good tease speak for itself, and flowed into Light or something else.

Looking forward to the Reba. On to the rest of the show.

I'm scared at where this band will be on Halloween.  Where the hell has this been?  The Reba, my god.  This is what I fucking want.  Seriously.  The Light too, it has some really interesting jams, and the confidence is there.... finally mother fucker.  Trey sounds like the Trey of old with the way he is leading the band and making aggressive musical moves.  They're starting to learn how to peak again, and how to move through the music again.  It's such a difference, they sound like a completely different band than Broomfield.  Broomfield and ACL both sounded like the same band going through the motions on leg II of the summer tour.  But this band, they have energy, and most of all they're commanding attention again.  It's no longer timid like the majority of shows from 3/6/09-10/12/10, they're pulling people in and you can hear this on the tapes.  This show has that same vibe as Charleston II where you can just tell the energy is collectively gathered and focused on the music.

Augusta Civic Center
Augusta, ME

Set I: Chalkdust Torture, Get Back On The Train, Torn and Frayed, Bathtub Gin, Gumbo, The Divided Sky, Jesus Just Left Chicago, Nellie Kane, 46 Days, Possum

set break: 9:40pm EST

Set II:  Fuck Your Face, Mike's Song* > Light* -> 20 Years Later > Fast Enough For You > Weekapaug Groove, Halley's Comet > Free, Harry Hood, Golgi Apparatus, A Day In The Life

Encore:  Reba > Backwards Down the Number Line

Interesting day yesterday, left work at 12 noon, met up w/ a buddy briefly before joining mehead and our two friends Dave and Aaron driving West across a beautiful foliaged Route 3 to Augusta caravan style.  props to mehead who rented a room at Holiday Inn right next to the civic center.  when we arrived the sun was still high and the lot was preety much empty around 2:30+.  We met up w/ Undermind and chilled in and around the HI.  At one point this big white Ryder trucks pulls in and I think it was Undermind who said "here comes the tanks" jokingly but in reality these dudes parked parallel w/ the lot and after awhile began dispersing big pink baloons of N20 ughhh.  We took a stroll around our side of the lot next to 95, we heard State troopers were pulling over out of state cars left and right w/ out just cause.  We went inside around 7:30 securing a decent spot Fishman side 2/3 way back(after set 2 we were able to move closer near the 1/2 way mark).

I

CDT - nice opener, I like what Mike was doing w/ his harmonics, got the crowd/energy up bigtime.

BATT - really dig this tune, Page sounded killer on his Clav, Trey sounded a little muddy at first but overall was a good version and was a good pic in terms of flow after CDT

Torn and Frayed - at first I didn't realize what they were playing but after the chorus I was psyched to see my first version, big smiles everywhere.

Gin - superb version, our friend Aaron has just recently caught the Phish bug and we were talking before the show about how before this version it was one of his least favorite songs.  The colors Kuroda was using during the head of Gin, brilliant purple and blues accentuated the colors I typically see in Gin.  The head of Gin was played perfectly and powerfully w/ Fishman seeming to be adding more bang in his boom.  Page started using his clav and the jam progressed into this wonderful "wall of sound" which is how I desribed it post-show.  Kick ass version all the awy around.

Gumbo - my friend Dave called this one, he cited the Went and Lemonwheel as top Maine versions, this one was good but no jam like the afermentioned classics, nice showcase for Page on the ivories.  At this point great set flow and song selection.  Its important to point out how many heads were sharing joints.  These 2 dudes next to mehead were sparking big joints of their yummy what smelled like kush every other song and my friend Jesse stopped by to share some of his dankness early in the set.

Divided Sky - incredible version, Trey was very focused and literally was holding the crowd w/ his fingers.  Sometimes this tune can be hit or miss for me but last night's version was a monster, it seemed like Trey was looking up at the far end ceiling w/ mouth open totally ingrossed by the music, again Kuroda hitting some nice hues and changes, another set highlight.

JJLC - I knew we were entering into the vaudville section of the set/show, preety good version but honestly I'm really burnt out on 12 bar blues esp. performed by Phish.

Nellie Kane - a Maine throwback, this version was solid and helped pick up the energy after JJLC.

46 Days - a lot of air guitar in our area w/ this one and many songs in the first set, I thought they might end the set w/ this one, some interesting ideas nothing too crazy, was hoping for something huge ala the IT or other 20 min+ versions but not to be, still solid into

Possum - high energy version, again I'm kinda burnt out on Possum as well but it was fun watching the local paramedic guys hitting the rails keeping time w/ the music.

II

FYF - at first I had no idea what they were playing, Mike's bass sounds like Les so I was thinking Primus at first, definitely 80's metal/hard influence into

Mike's Song - I think Scotty(WTU) arrived in our area towards the end of FYF, (it was cool to finally meet you and hang out a little bit!), Mike's was solid, Scotty was hoping for a Hydrogen but instead we got a song mehead and I called earlier

Light - I'm a fan and was pumped to hear this one again, the main jam was fairly straight ahead but after the outro piece settled they morphed into some free improv, at times it sounded a little dis-jointed but then got a little spacey and trippy, we were hoping for a segue into Ghost but instead they transitioned into

Twenty Years Later - this tune starts off a little slow but picks up steam w/ the Zeppy esque outro riff into jam, Fishman sounded great in the outro jam w/ Page adding his ambient thrust touches, Fishman kept pounding the skins even as the jam began to decay indicating I think he wanted to keep jamming that one out, as a result the transition into

FEFY - was cool I thought, I called this one earlier as well, again great lights w/ more purples, Trey's solo was decent and his playing very consistent all night.

Weekapaug - as usual strong opening, towards the middle there was some really nice jamming w/ Page rocking his clav but they wrapped it up and went into

Halley's - still a big favorite and the crowd went ballistic during this one but again no big jam like I had come acustomed to before 3.0.

Free - always good to hear, I know Undermind said it was one of the better versions he's heard, personally I thought it was just avg but I expect exploratory jams out of every song;)

Hood - at this point things had quieted down and it kinda felt like the band was on cruise control,  the jam was solid though w/ Trey really trying hard at the end to create a nice peak.

Golgi - I know mehead was pumped for this one;)

ADITL - really good version w/ 2 great sections of loud dissonance, I think if they could incorporate some of that dissonance which was really peaking in Stash it might help.

E

really was expecting a Rocky Top or Joy but instead received a

Reba - holy s***!!!, we were pumped, really solid head into very relaxed and trippy chill, the jam was very patient and at one point dissolved completely into non-Reba spaces, eventually the jam quieted down to nothing before they segued into this weird, funky(not the wha-wha funk) free jam that contained some of the most interesting playing of the night(next to Gin).  Eventually they segued back into Reba proper w/ Trey looking over at Fishman intently timing the peak/end.  As I told Undermind after it finished, best encore of 2010, so far...

BDTNL - no big jam but great lyrical send off after the fabulous Reba.

Overall I really liked the flow and song selection of set 1 right up until JJLC, the rest of the set was good and well played but it didn't seem to jive w/ my Phish aesthetic.  Like set 1, I liked how 2 began but after I realized we we're not getting a jammed out Halley's the rest of the set was avg imm although the ADITL closer was killer.  Again classic encore, can't wait to revisit this show again later this evening.  Our intention was to sit on Page side but got quagmired onto the floor, oh well there will be many opportunities to meet again 'paug brothers and sisters.  hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

only heard the second set so far.

it's about on par with the rest of the fall tour. i.e., weak.

fyf is the worst one they've yet played.
mike's is awful. page quotes fyf skillfully, but once trey gets in on it, it all falls apart. the end quote is just as bad.
light is mediocre at best. they have no idea where to go with this.
20 years is fine, the end jam is decent.
fefy is nice.
weekapaug is short as usual.
halley's is only a good song when the song is over and it goes somewhere cool, which it doesn't do anymore. skipped this version.
hood, average.
golgi is golgi.
day in the life is maybe the set highlight.

into reba right now, and it's clearly going to be the show highlight (fishman's gettin' all manteca on us!).

has this tour been the worst they've sounded in all of 3.0? seems that way to me. none of these shows have been very good.

/end hate

it's more just the overall listenability of these shows. aside from this reba, i'm having a hard time thinking of any songs i'll go back to so far from this tour.

Thanks, rj. Good to know. I really should sit and listen to the Siket Disc 100% sober-minded so I can tell that stuff apart. I'd say that's the Phish music I've spent the least amount of time listening to. I think even Round Room may have seen more play.  :|

Maybe Augusta will have them back again next year!  It sounds like the Phish show may have at least opened up the venue to have more shows.  It is nice to read a positive article on the Phish community and not one that just talks about drug arrests.  Although the balloon reports aren't great.

No damage after Phish

By Mechele Cooper mcooper@centralmaine.com
Staff Writer

AUGUSTA -- Susan Ainslie never saw so many discarded balloons.

Balloons were strewn all over the grounds and parking lots of the Augusta Civic Center after Tuesday night's Phish concert.

Ainslie, a skilled laborer for the city's Public Works Department, helped with concert cleanup. Three crews were on the job at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

"I've never seen so many balloons in my life," Ainslie said as she loaded up a trailer with trash. "They were all different colors. There were even tie-dyed ones."

She said Phish fans were pretty good about throwing their trash into the more than five dozen 55-gallon receptacles brought over from the city's Bureau of Parks and Recreation. More than 6,000 Phish tickets were sold, according to the Civic Center.

Chris Blodgett, park foreman for the Bureau of Parks, Cemeteries and Trees, monitored a pair of motorized sweepers on the side parking lot where concert vendors were located.

"We've canvassed the area, and now we're cleaning the parking lots," Blodgett said. "There's some glass and trash and balloons and a lot of cigarette butts, which you can't pick up by hand."

Blodgett said the mess wasn't as bad as he had anticipated. Because Phish fans weren't as messy as some, he said it could mean more bands with huge followings coming to Augusta.

"If we can handle a concert like that with municipal cleanup, it opens a whole new genre of entertainment that can be put in that facility," he said.

Dana Colwill, director of the Civic Center, said preparing for the concert dominated his staff for six weeks.

"I wouldn't want to do this every week," Colwill said, "but the whole reason we did it was for the economic impact. That's why this building was built. The first thing after I found out there was a possibility, I called my boss, (city manager) Bill Bridgeo, and said, 'Do you want Phish in your city?' And he said, 'Why not? We're not just a country venue.' "

Leif Dahlin, director of community services for Augusta, commended Colwill for taking proactive steps and having enough trash receptacles at the city-owned auditorium.

Colwill also had all-terrain vehicles with wagons and staff picking up trash on the day of the concert, which Dahlin said helped with Wednesday's cleanup.

"I was just up there," Dahlin said, "and I've seen the day after Halloween worse than what we saw up there today. From what I can tell, they pulled off one heck of an event."

About 80 Jehovah's Witnesses converged on the Civic Center after the concert. They picked up trash, cleaned lobbies, floors, and the bathrooms.

"They work for us in trade for rental," Colwill said. "They do a couple of conventions here, and we bartered with them. They gave us manpower and we gave them space. They gave us a huge jump on this morning."

The band actually has a "green team" of 20 people who, after the concert, went through and picked up all the recyclables. Colwill said he rented a Dumpster for recyclables, along with two Dumpsters for trash.

The lingering smell of alcohol permeated the halls and main auditorium where Phish fans were allowed to dance without being harassed.

"That's dissipating a lot right now," Colwill said of the alcohol smell. "The ventilation's on. It's a residual effect, as far as the alcohol and smoke smell, unfortunately; but it's 50 percent better than what it was three hours ago. We've had all the doors open, so it will be fine for tomorrow."

Colwill said Maine School Superintendents met at the Civic Center on Wednesday, and the Maine School Management Association's fall conference is scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

He said there had been some concern about hosting a concert of this size so close to these two events.

Good planning made it possible.

"We have put more detail and time in this concert, more than anything else we've done in my 14 years here," Colwill said.

"It was incredible, the logistics and everything we had to do."

Colwill said Phish fans had a good time and enjoyed the show, and they were respectful of property.

"We've got some great positive feedback from people and our neighbors," he said.

"This was not a violent crowd. I can't find one bit of damage in this building; it was just messy."

I've only listened up to this show in this Fall run but I'd say this 2nd set is my favorite of the lot.  First set is standard with sold versions and a couple of stellar tracks in Gin and Gumbo.  I just love the latter, it's been high in my books ever since ALO and I've only ever heard it once live, which was at Lemonwheel.
But I find the end of this show has pretty much every element I'd want in a second set and encore.
FYF/Mike's sandwich is fun, maybe not jammed out but different for sure.
Light would have been insane with CK5 as Trey yells out louder and louder 'the light is growing brighter now!'  Incredible jam follows where it seems they were going a bunch of different places.
FEFY and Paug were well played and Trey has come light years with Paug, sounded great.
Harry Hood maybe one of my favs of 3.0, I thought Trey showed a lot of patience in that jam.
Golgi is always energetic and gets the crowd going before ADITL?  C'mon, I've always loved this Beatles tune and Page delivers on this one.
And by far, my highlight of this show goes to Reba, which just kills IMO and is definitely in the running for best of 3.0
BDTNL finishes strong for a 6 min version.

Very discouraged I was not able to make it to this show.  Fuck you Phish and your monster weeknight shows.
Would imagine it'll be more of the same tonight in NH.
Now on to Utica.

Agreed.

I also thought the Gin was well played.  NIce jamming, nothing off base and terrible from Trey.

Week4paug had a sweet groove by Fish.  Page sounded sweet throughout the show.

I will definitely give the Reba another spin, which is not something I would normally do with many of these shows, but I felt it was that good that I NEED to hear it again.

Good job Phish.  You have restored a little faith for me in your playing skills.

Liked the show, but although I was in the phish.com pics front row, I thought the first set killed the second.  Not to hate cuz I wouldn't be here if the boys weren't the rulers of listening but the second set seemed rushed at first like they played the fyf for a fun choice and that (being the first one I've seen) was at that.  It seemed trey was kinda off his game during this and threw in the teases when the rest of the guys didn't know it was coming at all and seemed to be caught off guard making it more of a "throw it out there for fun" rather than build it like jenga as they usually do.  I say this having seen it and thought Trey was having a blast as was I but think the fyf teases were sloppy and didn't think it brought any great energy to the table.  I feel it threw the flow off from the first set which was smoking and definitely in concentration by all 4 members.  Even the solo if you listen to it in fyf trey was missing the timing meter.  The first time they played fyf in the summer was the best cuz it seemed every note was right there and they seemed to have rehearsed it.  If you also think about it the mike's was fairly sloppy all in good fun though, (i think) because of the fyf teases.  I feel they couldn't grab the tightness and just mudded their way through the mike's till light happened which they love and is great but followed by 20 years later definitely didn't have the energy through the roof.  Love fast enough for you and after all this I feel set the pace for the rest of the show which started to come together again at that point but every jam including Weekapaug was very quiet and low energy but definitely not sloppy at all after light.  They played at this level greatly and it was cool to see them recognize this and keep the energy as it was the rest of the show as if you remember the ripping reba encore's jam was so soft and gentle and never peaked.  It went into that heavy riff part in the middle of the jam and fish started a little manteca over heavy ambience.  They then kicked back into the reba melody without ever taking it over the top when they ended it I think for this reason it was an epic show for them to ride the casually low energy vibe and keep it real while not having to try and force the volume or speed up.  It was a very different kind of second set that made it good for me and the fact that they didn't do anything but go with what was there.  Ya you could say Trey could have played fyf better and it may have changed the show but the outcome obviously would've never happened.  I was psyched to be there and in the front for most until I gave the spot to a hottie who asked me for it.

There's a button on your keyboard I'd like to introduce you to... it's over on the right and it says "enter."

Using the "enter" button will separate your massive conglomerate of words into paragraphs that are much easier for your reader to digest.

Who's this Kami character?
Story?
Short version....
It began with a knock on our hotel room door. She was looking for someone else, wrong room. So we invited her in. A few hours later after she had finished most of a "regular sized bottle" (her words) of Vodka she accompanied us to the show.
Cute, slutty, and drunk is a dangerous combination. Im glad I went home that night. My brother on the other hand....

I pointed her out to Scotty at one point during the show and was all "Man, if I wasn't married I'd be rubbing all over her right now. Look at her she's just asking for it. You should be all over that". Scott says" I'm not like that. I cant do it. I just cant."  Less than a minute later I open my eyes and Scotts gone. Oh, there he is, grinding with Kami like his life depended on it.
