I thought I recognized Trey's shirt from 'ween '95.  The jam 15 min. into YEM is an alltime great.

How about we start a Phish "Hall of Jam" discussion???

Itsnotanexperience

I'm going to expose myself to criticism here, but i've got to
make a major flip-flop on my attitude towards solo trey, circa-May,
'05...........quite honestly, i've avoided it like the plague since the
first few shows i heard at the beginning of the tour sounded like hell
to me..........but after reading mattstick's assesment, i felt i should give
them another chance...........

so......i just listened to the 5/14/05 show, and all i can say is that i take
back a lot of what i said about my previous view of trey's skills, and passion....
not only did i find him to be a joy to listen to, (and here's where i'll get killed,
but it's all good - i ready, methinks!!!) but the version of SAND they busted out
was better than any version of sand i can remeber phish jamming.........having
said that, i should say that i never really liked SAND before, and mostly b/c gordo,
for whatever reason (given his monster abilities) never played it the way it was supposed
to be played - trey has said as much at least twice that i know of, and it's true.......gordo
can groove w/ the best of 'em, but never quite hit the groove right on that track....my
2 cents, let the fire fall where it may:)

all in all, i was very blown away by the 5/14 show........now, my expectations were very,
very, low, but i'm a musician, and a pretty good one, not that that makes any difference,
per se, but i heard some fresh trey during that show that i haven't heard on any previous
solo trey show - vital trey, one might say.........so there ya go.  i even enjoyed the wolfman's
taboot.

thanks for opening my eyes a bit, mattstick - i'm not about to jump on the band wagon, but
some of those new songs were incredible (new to me at least), and the band sounds very
solidified to these ears......

one more time, in case anybody missed it - the sand from this show is now my personal favorite of all time.

not trying to ruffle any feathers, but hell - the shit is good........i don't know if they'll stay good, but that 5/14 show is awesome.

mattstick

That's awsome!  I see some real potential in the new band, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

5/11 Columbus is my favorite show from the tour that I did'nt see - and I even like 5/13 better than 5/14 - required listening as far as I'm concerned.

QuoteLast Friday night, I got together with Les, Ray, Skeeto and Peter to
talk openly about the strong feelings I've been having that 70 Volt
Parade has run its course and that we should end it now while it's
still on a high note. Once we started talking, it quickly became
apparent that the other guys' feelings, while not all the same as
mine, were similar in many ways -- most importantly, that we all love
and respect 70 Volt Parade and the 70 Volt Parade audience far too
much to stand by and allow it to drag on beyond the point of vibrancy
and health. We don't want to become caricatures of ourselves, or
worse yet, a nostalgia act. By the end of the meeting, we realized
that after almost two months together we were faced with the
opportunity to graciously step away in unison, as a group, united in
our friendship and our feelings of gratitude.

So the 10,000 Lakes Festival will be the final 70 Volt Parade show.
We are proud and thrilled that it will be in the fine state of
Minnesota. We're also excited for the Bonnaroo show, our last one
together. For the sake of clarity, I should say that this is not like
the time between Higher Ground and Richmond, which was our last
attempt to revitalize ourselves. We're done. It's been an amazing and
incredible journey. We thank you all for the love and support that
you've shown us.

Where can I get a refund?

Will Ben Harper still be touring this summer?

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.
