RIP - glad his suffering is over. i honestly didn't think he'd make it this long after he announced his tumor last May. 

it would also be nice of Mass could fix their laws and let the gov appoint an immediate successor (right now we have to wait 145-160 days for a special election - and we NEED that vote for Health Care reform...)

That's the result of a screw up by the MA Dems. When Romney was gov, they didn't want him to have the power to appoint a (Republican) Senator - so they took it away.
