kinda bored w/ just the +k. whatcha think?
im all or nothing, either bring back the smite, or remove it all together.
things have calmed down here a ton lately, i feel like we'd be ok either way.
lol weren't you the one who nixed it??
+1 for bring it back.. def don't wanna see it go away altogether
Yeah, I say bring it back.
It's not fair that you're the only one who gets to be in negative digits.
I voted Yes.
Never used it much, but it was handy.
i forget our history w/ the smite
but i think when karma was initially turned on, we had the smite. then tet took it away. then we brought it back. then we had a bunch of threads w/ people whining about being smited at which point it was taken away again.
so im mixed on it. my vote was always to remove the function all together, but some people seem to be able to have fun with it.
no post brought it up. i was sitting here 'pauging and my wife asked "whats that applaud button for?" and i had to explain it. to which she said it was silly to only have positive karma and called us "happy little hippies" which i decidedly am NOT.
so i figured id make a poll and see who agrees with her.
no guarantees, just curious what people think.
does anyone really think we could do it without a shitshow of complaining about being smited? threads about karma?

bring it back so that it could just be removed a few months from now or a year from now?
it's the internet. you know there will be drama eventually.
I say remove the whole karma system altogether. if you like somethinging, say "thank you." if you don't, tell the person they are an idiot.
I am always amused how everyone posts when they give someone karma but never posts when they smite someone.
I vote we just let Rich back.
Allow me to reenacte threads when the smite was in tact.
QuoteX show sucks
that show rules
who smited me?
you may have be smited by someone reading another thread!
who smited me? I demand to know
karma doesn't mean anything brah
if you have something to say to me, tell it to my face, don't just smite me
blah, blah, blah
I like the "Thank You" idea.

This.
I very rarely let people know when I give them +k, and get bumped all the time without knowing who or why.

Here here. I really could give a rats ass about Karma or smiting for that matter so it's a non-issue in my mind.
And Dan, that avatar kicks serious ass.
+K?
:-D
I voted yes.
surprisingly my smite ratio was almost zero. I'm ok w/ it either way. I was going to suggest this for 1 or 2 'paugers:

I say we bring back the smite but also increase the moderators' salaries...

I say we bring back the smite but also increase the moderators' ban quota...
you have a quota you have to hit? What happens if you don't ban enough people? Do you lose some mod powers?
I've always wondered what it would be like to have "mod power." It scares me a little. What would I do with it? I may have a tendency to run amok and mod threads about kittens just because I'm a dog person!!
Oh, and I voted "yes." I wasn't here when smite existed, but it sounds fun!

...oh wait...
Not a fan of the smite, it makes people paranoid and whiny.
What if we brought smite back but somehow made it so you are forced to list a reason or cite a specific post before the smite goes through? This might cause more drama, perhaps, but it would also probably make people think twice about smiting someone... no more trigger-happy smiters?

it's called posting a respectful opinion about what someone said or did instead of hittign an anonymous button.
then again, I've been known to be a bit too honest.

Also, I voted no, just because it causes too many ridiculous arguments. I don't mind arguments at all, it's just the silly ones about why someone smited me or show your face smiter! ones that are unbearable.

Ok, Smites are back.
Heres the thing -
We have a new karma system. You can now go to your profile and see who has given you karma, positive or negative. You can also view who has given other people karma, positive or negative.
So now people can be held accountable for the karma that they leave for others.
Want to bitch about it? There is ONE, and only ONE, and there never will be more than ONE thread for bitching about karma:
http://week4paug.net/index.php?topic=14704.0
Otherwise, keep it to PM. And even then, PM'ing someone abour karma is just plain LAME.
Its supposed to be fun, so lets keep it fun dudes.
Posts (bitching) about karma in any thread other than the official karma bitch thread will be deleted.
-K for everyone in this thread
f you
LOL
