yea, I actually liked Round Midnight better.
There's one I want to rent about the making of a famous photo with all the "jazz gods" at the time. I forget the name. Anyone know what I'm talking about / see it?

A Great Day in Harlem. Very good flick

Great movie.

...and Monk showed up hours late and wearing a WHITE suit. Pissed everyone off, I've heard.

Hmmm, Monk is in the picture. Up front, just off the middle, wearing sunglasses and the hat

The Seventh Seal...
Awesome.

I've gotta go back and rewatch No Country For Old Men, now.

The End of the Century-The Story of The Ramones

AWESOME!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! even if you are not a fan of the Ramones, this is a really good rock documentary. Shows how influential The Ramones were, and showed all the inner shit with the band, drugs, girlfriends, even political differences. Like an awesome VH1 Behind the Music

great movie. haven't seen it for a long time.
may von sydow is so awesome in all of bergman's movies.

i saw Vertigo at a theater yesterday. what a weird flick. so demented. nice to see projected, it looks great.

I saw that new movie '21' last night.
It was just ok. It wasn't quite thrilling/dramatic casino film and wasn't really entertaining like oceans 11 or something. It kind of lacked something.
The main kid in it (he was also in across the universe) was good and totally adorable  Kevin Spacey played a creeper
Kate Bosworth was sort of severe and frightening looking (I don't know why chicks think getting your lips pumped full of collagen is a good look) and my mom and I both thought it was absolutely ridiculous that we were to believe she supposedly 21.
Anyway, they used MGMT in the opening which was cool. But overall it was just kind of eh.

Yeah Max Von Sydow was amazing... the expressiveness in his face was stunning.

I would totally love to see Vertigo on the screen...

I Am Legend...I enjoyed it...didn't know what to expect...for me it was very much in the vein of War of the Worlds and Signs...where the movie is enjoyable, but the ending is rather abrupt and ties things up a little too nicely.

The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico...check it out...I thought it was great.  I knew nothing about it and still didn't know half way through if this guy was for real or not...but stories of hard living musicians are always good for the late night movie.

the two i like best are from the late '60s, Hour of The Wolf, very surreal, and Shame, about how war affects a married couple. Shame also stars the incomparably beautiful (and brilliant) liv ullman. pretty much everything bergman made after Seventh Seal features maybe four actors, usually on an otherwise deserted swedish isle, dealing with relationships gone awry/god's silence/madness. Hour of The Wolf plunges into some weird dream imagery. Shame actually features many actors and a mysterious, never explained war. not exactly cheerful movies, but very powerful.
