QuoteEarlier this afternoon, Kristy Manning, Trey's sister, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was one of Phish's first fans and biggest supporters. In recent years, Kristy helped form and lead Trey's non-profit endeavor, The Seven Below Arts Initiative.
Kristy was a loving sister, mother, daughter, friend, and a role model for all. Her positive attitude, strength of character and continued outpouring of love and support left a profound impact on everyone she knew.
She will truly be missed.
That's very sad. (((vibes)))
Terrible news.
Wow, that is really too bad. She seems as though she would still be quite young. Vibes to their family.
::vibes to Trey and family::
very sad, sorry to hear.
Not to detract from this horrible news but I couldn't help but wonder what effect this would have on Trey, particularly his recovery. Horrible events such as this can lead someone in recovery in to rather dark places.
Ragrdless, My thoughts go out to his entire family.

Sad news... But it explains the recent Chapel Hill, NC Trey sitings...
Terry
very sad indeed. It's such a tragedy when a person so young dies like that.....I really can't even imagine
My thoughts go out to her family and friends...
i could see him dedicating a song to her this summer.
So sad. Hope trey's ok. I guess that it's good that this isn't a surprise - how long was she battling the cancer? Either way, obviously a very sad time - my thoughts are with trey and his fam.

Man, that sucks!! Best wishes to the entire family. :-)
F'cking cancer! :x
Sorry to see this.
Our thoughts go out to Trey and family.
Indeed. I lost an uncle to lymphoma in 2002; he was 47 with three kids in high school and college. Ii's always sad, and it's a particular kind tragedy losing someone in mid-life.
Best thoughts and wishes to all of her family. Especially her children.

SunriseVT, you went to UNC, correct?
Did you actually know Kristy? I believe that I met her like once.
She lived in Carrboro, btw.
Definitely a sad day. Kristy and Trey were very close. At least he was sober when she passed.
:((
Yeah, my wife and I lived there 2001-2005. One of her co-workers was basically best friends with Kristy, I think, and she was pointed out to me, but we never spoke. I think my wife might have met her at work or something, but she didn't mention it last night when I showed her the news, so maybe not.

Regardless, My thoughts go out to his entire family.
Trey and family have been going through this for a while and were fully aware this was going to happen. If anything this has and will keep him true to himself and his family.
My deepest condolences go out to her family.
RIP Kristy Manning
My thoughts and prayers to Trey and the rest of his family

Trey may or may not read this board but I know there has to be someone around here that can pass along condolences to him and his family from us all.
Rest in peace, Kristy.
I was thinking the same thing Rich...
