Title: Non-circulating shows
Post by: jephrey on January 15, 2006, 01:13:35 PM
I saw this was mentioned before but I thought it might be nice as a sticky...  Maybe in the ISO forum so people know what NOT to ask for.  Maybe it should cover everything known, but 92-04 is a nice start.  From that other thread http://week4paug.net/index.php/topic,189.0.html, here's 92 on (with notes on a couple later ones).  I also wanted to include anything that was incomplete (like missing tracks) so if anyone can add anything, please do.

Most of these are from lists posted by thelot, I don't want to take credit for the work.

Shows and sets from '96 that do not circulate...

Thanks,

I have an analog copy of 5/3/94 I.  It's on an old XLII ...I picked this show up a week or so after the show.  So it is not uncirculated. I have no idea as to its lineage however.  If anyone wants to transfer the show let me know..

hey, this is a good list to have.  I'll ask Dave Flaschner if he's got any of these on DAT for me to transfer :)
I've already asked him about Bozeman (11/28/94).  due to a blizzard, he didn't get into town until 11 ish, and hence, didn't tape the show.  I have a feeling we won't see a complete source of this one, unless they decide to release it.

on the other hand, if Joe (aka thelot) put this list together, I know he's friend's with Dave as well, so maybe Dave doesn't have these shows.  well, we'll see.

Yeah, Bozeman was my first show and I went to school there at the time.  I wish I was into the scene, but unfrotunately wasn't and don't have a clue where to find someone who may have it...  Maybe classmates.com?  Post a message to everyone who went there in 94 or something.  I don't know.  This should be released with a slew of other shows that have special guests.  Like a special guests LP release.  10 shows, each with a guest appearance, like the Kid Rock appearance, a Bob Gulotti show, etc.

Here's to hoping

I'm interested in the national nathem stuff and the missing letterman...

I pulled the SNL from vhs and mastered a dvd...  entire show.  I'd pass that on somewhere else.  I'd imagine it's not trade friendly at all.  I also grabbed a couple others from DVD, Oysterhead on Conan.  TAB on Conan and on Letterman (one of them is Alive Again, I believe the other is Push on.) and Phish on Leno.  But they're stupid vhs rips.  I'm packing them all on a dvd for fun.  Just gotta get back to it.

Anyhow, I imagine that stuff isn't tradeable...  I'll talk to you.

2/17/93 was my first show, and i've been searching for a decent digital copy since then.  I DO have both complete sets on analog; different unknown sources for each set.  The first set sounds kinda "ehhh", however the second is quite listenable.

Over the years i've heard different things about the taping of this show, such as that everyone's AUD tapes came out like crap at Benton Convention Center and most ditched them.  I also heard that someone witnessed Page (maybe Paul?) give someone analog soundboards that night.  I'm convinced that some old head in NC has the gems sitting in his/her collection; collecting dust.

Very recently, during project 93 over on etree, it was said that a complete DAT source was obtained, as well as a partial second set (SBD?), and that they would be seeded in due time.

I have been VERY reluctant to transfer my old dusty analogs, but if the show doesn't show up soon, I will be forced to do it and post up the show in terrorist fashion, complete with no source info and straight from multiple gen type I analog.  The ransom being the better sources that DO EXIST!

Anyway, there are a TON of folks out there searching for this show. Hopefully I will not have to break out those analogs!

How do you convince a man to share music?  It'd be awesome to reduce this list.

I recently got a dvd with some national anthems and TV appearances.  The audio sounds good, but I am concerned about trading tv broadcasts.  I ripped the aud from the vid and have them in my own collection.  I'd put together an audio compilation of TV appearances if anyone's interested, but I am not sure of the legality.  In any case, there are some appearances that "circulate" but I'm not sure if they circulate legally.

4/5/93 - Seattle

here's the setlist that's available online:

Quote
Set I: Llama, It's Ice, Fee, Maze, Fluffhead, Paul and Silas, Stash, Colonel Forbin's Ascent > The Famous Mockingbird, David Bowie
Set II: Axilla, Poor Heart, Caravan, Punch You in the Eye, Tweezer, Glide, You Enjoy Myself, Cracklin' Rosie, Tweezer Reprise
Show Notes: Caravan was played for the first time since September 25, 1991 (214 shows).

the encore isn't listed in any setlists, not on phish.net, not on mockingbirdfoundation.ort, not anywhere.  The encore at this show was "Carolina" (sung a cappella) and then "Fire"

not only that, but it's a wonderful recording (FOB km140 > sonosax).  It's transferred now and sitting on my harddrive.  it'll be seeded shortly.  maybe today, but possibly not.  definitely in the next couple of days.  so we can cross this one off the list.  oh, and this Stash.  hot damn.  very good, even a little Dave's Energy Guide in there...

Thanks for ripping and encoding!

just wanted to give people a heads up... 2/17/93 & 2/22/93 will be in circulation soon.  not from me, but rather, Chris Moore will be seeding them.  as with his other recent seeds, he got them from Kevin.  I'm not sure when Chris will post them, but I was excited to hear that two more previously uncirculated shows will be crossed off the list.  but Chris told me that he already had them transferred, so I don't think it'll be too long :)

Does 10-2-1991 Cubby Bear, Chicago, IL circulate?

I can't find any reference to it in the etree db nor in the shns in circ listing but I swear I saw a copy uploaded at some point in the past 6 months.  But maybe not....

Anyhow, I have a Neumann source ready to roll tonight if its not already out there.

Chris,
thanks for the recent shows to come out of circulation.
I don't remember the 10/2 show being seeded.  I assume somene would have added it to the DB if it was seeded recently.

Anyway, thanks for your work and the additions.

I've got quite a few of those on tape yet to be transferred.......off the top of my head....

3-26-92
3-28-92 set 2
3-3-93

I know I've got more, but I'd need to dig through the tapes to find out exactly what I've got that can fill in the gaps....

Ok...hows this.....

Help me try to date this SNDCK.....

Was on a SBD DAT with 7-23-93.....it may be the soundcheck to that....not sure though.....

1)? > Funky Bitch Jam
2)Fluffhead (acoustic)
3)Blap lab ba durrr rap bap batta boom drrrap (might be Fixin To Die)
4)Blues Jam
5)Dog Done Gone
6)Alive (Pearl Jam) > Mango//

Any thoughts?

It's a shame it has so many problems.....there's TONS of digi noise throughout.....tried several different decks and all had the same spots......I'll be seeding it shortly....

Well let-er rip.  Alive was big in 92-93 so that might be  right on.   Dog Done Gone, or Dog Your Dog , or Dog Log, was prolly more famous in 91/92 so it'll be interesting.  Just my take on it.

Gracias.

Trey was big on the acoustic in 93 though......since the Fluffhead is acoustic, I'm thinking it has to be a 93.....I don't ever remember him picking up the acoustic in 92 (maybe a couple of times at most) as much as he did in 93......

Maybe an email to KS will help clear it up.....

thanks for the work on the list.
I've gone through the lists on etree and others have gone through on phishbook.  I remember emailing a few people about 4/15/86.  I actually made another effort today with someone who has a bunch of tapes that are under-circulated.
once you find one person with one of these shows, it is a good bet they have a number of them.
I'm going to get back on this task again to try and uncover some of them.

great work!

I smell a "Project Unearthed" coming down the pike.
This list will be very useful when I totally rewrite my database.

I have 2-5-89.....and I just got sent the cass copies from the master DAT of 5-11-91.....

I know I have a lot of these low circ/uncirc'd shows sitting around my house here.....the problem is going through all the tapes/dats I have sitting here and then transferring/mastering/tracking/seeding/etc.....

we'll get to em eventually......right now I'm focused on 3/3/93, 2/21/91, and a few others from the 80's.....I'll keep updating anything I find in my collection here.....plus with the way folks send me random shit, who knows....maybe someone will send a suprise  :phish:

I have a bunch of that stuff on analog, and as Marmar knows, I know someone who can fill in a lot of that list, who I am working on.  I need to  look at that list  more, and dig up my tapes, but on analog, I have 1/29/90, 2-14-91, some of 3-5-90, 4-19,20,21,22-91,5-12-91 and I just gave Marmar the cassette masters of 5/11/91.  I'll try and get my cassettes together.  I just don't know what's available on digital.  I do know that almost everything I have from 90 and 91 is 2nd gen at the most, I just don't have tape deck to check quality.  I do know that a lot of stuff that has been seeded does not sound as good as my cassettes (eg.1-28-90).  After Marmar seeds the 5-11-91, I'll send him another stack of stuff I have, and at least maybe improve on stuff that's out there, if he's willing.....

What circulates for 5-19-00? I have the show after the Mark and Brian show (http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=25226 (http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=25226))  and twist >>> Brian & Robert that appears to be the tracks that weren't aired on the Mark & Brian show. Does the broadcast section of the radio show circulate, the reason I ask is there is no db entry, thanks

You can cross 3-3-93 off the list shortly....I'm transferring that one today......

I'm going to hold out on it as KS promised me clones from his DAT's for 3-2-93 and 3-3-93 to honor the passing of a friend of his.....who was also the taper of the shows......so I'll have it, but might hold off on seeding it.....maybe Chris already has these 2 shows from Kevin (any word on these Chris?).....if not I'll be sure to get the clones from KS on our next HD/CD swap.....

thanks for putting together a list with Kevin.

just in case you didn't see earlier in this thread, I recently seeded 4/5/93.
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=23332 (http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=23332)
and reseeded here: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=26194 (http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=26194)

I only mention it, because it's on the list you just posted :)

Yeah....this list is a little dated....we put it together late last year just before he sent his dat's to chris for txferring.....this list  is the list we used to decide what to send out......

I'm sure there's a few more on there that have been seeded recently as well.....like 2-21 and 2-22-91, 5-11-91......

Once I get started on the DNC page, this will all get cleared up......

I mean 12/31/90 is not circulated?  crazy....I can't wait until July to see what else is under my bed at my parents house....I know a 1st gen of that is, among others on that list....4 weeks and I'll know for sure....

Title: Re: Non-circulating shows
Post by: Marmar on June 20, 2006, 10:00:27 PM
Yeah...I need to double check it since it has been a lil bit since it was put together.....but for the most part it is right on......most of the 90-91 shows are holes in their archive as well......it wasn't till 92 that they got their act together and started recording every gig.....

Now ya know why kev is so excited to see yours (and hopefully your buddy...kevin seems to think he'll hop right on)  tapes getting out there.....he had always eluded that these were out there, and now we know where they are :)

Upon reviewing marmar's list, and what I had listed from thelot's list, plus what's in the database...
phan003, please use this list to whittle down 1992-1994, because I may have already run across a few, plus, there might be 1 or 2 more additions.  I can't really capture stuff that circulates that isn't in the database, so some things that actually circulate may be on this list.  This is 1990-1997.

It's supposedly one of those ones without a setlist...

I believe you had 1-1 in your list thelot, there were a couple others but for the most part, what was in yours was in marmar's.  And I think I got most of the others for 92-94 phan, but you'll still want to check.

And with that 1/2, I was looking at the Mockingbird site (which relates to the first Companion).  so Maybe they did determine that there was no show on that date.  It was also on marmar and KS's list too, so I'll leave it for now.

There are some clicks here and there...and skipping in Lizards......I prolly got this from the person you tradeed with as they did EAC and share it for me in shnfamily......if you have these discs...I think I could get a better rip.......can you confirm that your discs have no skips in Lizards before I seed this?.......I spent a lot of time mastering these so they'd sound better and boy do they....minus the damn skips......

If you have em...lemme know so I can get a copy of em to master fully and seed up......

I just checked Lizards on my way into work...no skips!!! PM me your addy and I'll send out d2 (or the whole thing if you want) and 4-7-92 Set 2. :beers: :phish: :beers:

I can say that when caravan and his buddy start shipping their shows off to me, there are gonna be a LOT of shows that have no mention at all in any existing databases.....including Phish's master database that Kevin keeps......so for many of these shows, we'll be flying blind and having to rely on the j-cards and their memories......

This is gonna be a blast!

Also....I'm gonna need a few volunteers for doing test listens when I get them txferd.....with things this important, I never trust my ears only....especially with the volume of material we'll be dealing with.....

Well.....basically, you'll need 2 different playback systems......but we'll deal with that once I get everything here organized.....

1) Check tonal balance on your assigned playback systems......report any overshots/weakness
2) Check the tracking......
3) Check for glitches in the post-mastering/pre-finalization stage.....<<<<by far the most important...after listening to endless music doing the txfers and mastering, missing a glitch is very easy to do.....ears do fatigue.....
4) Listen for anything missed in the show notes....like if you recognize a song being teased, let us know!

That's about it.....you'll need the ability to playback 24/48 or higher resolutions......multiple night runs might end up on DVD media (aDVD-V or DVD-A) so testers with DVD-A players are good (hint-hint)  :phish:

I can't play back 24/48 so you might need to scratch me off the list. If you need someone just for checking glitches, notes, etc then I would be happy to do it, taking into account above.

Count me in for notes and glitches and other things like that.
I'll be able to play from my computer and an audio DVD-V, and of course the good ol' fashioned CD-R.

can't most computers play 24/48?  That's what I'm banking on...  Actually, I don't see why we haven't started trading 24/48 at large...  I don't know how many people still burn discs...

A computer can only playback what it can handle......

If you have an old ISA style SBAWE16 then yer shit outta luck...

*most* newer soundcards are all 24/48 capable......most onboard chipsets on mobo's are capable of 24/48.....

Don't rely on winamp to test if you can playback 24bit files  :-D It dithers and resamples the output to 16bit/44.1 if you can't play 24bit/48kHz or higher.....

When the time is right, I'll start asking the important questions.....like: What brand card is it.....how many channels......what brand speakers you're using.....what amp you have attached.....etc......Tet and mattstick can attest to how anal I get about these things....they were involved in the oldschool project.....I mean, if I know what kind of amp/speaker setup you're using I'll know if you'll be able to hear the 0.025db change that was made at 13347Hz......I'll also know if you can hear rumble.......etc.....

Its the things like that that I check and double check before I seed important stuff.....I mean I get VERY involved with the whole process.....I treat them as if I were working on these for official releases (check out 11-16-90, 11-24-90, 8-28-93.....you'll see what I mean).

Title: Re: Non-circulating shows
Post by: jephrey on June 29, 2006, 02:49:06 PM
Just some prelim for me.  I'm on a mac.  Software wise I'm sure I can play the files 24/48.  I think even iTunes/QT will do it, but if not, I have Sound Studio, and Amadeus II which can.  as far as hardware I have an optical audio out which I think even goes to 192kHz (24 or 48bit?).  That's where I lose it...  I have nothing after that really.

1.  Do you always listen in a good room through speakers or is it acceptable if you have the proper headphones?

2.  I assume that the built-in headphone amp will not suffice.

3.  What's the least expensive optical > amp(5.1 decoding) that's reasonable?

Jephrey
Title: Re: Non-circulating shows
Post by: jephrey on June 29, 2006, 03:11:40 PM
OK...

Even the analog out on my comp will play 48Khz/24bit through the headphone jack but I don't know that it's acceptable with a 24-ohm output impedance, 20-20kHz frequency response,0.5/-3.0dB, >90dB S/N ratio, and
< 0.01% total harmonic distortion.

Optical is up to 96kHz/24 bit, >130dB S/N ratio, and <0.00003% total harmonic distortion.

So, 1, is the headphone amp acceptable and can I use headphones(and what kind), 1a if I can't use headphones, can I run that output to another amp or will that be too distorted? and 2, if I have to go optical, what amp to use.

Jephrey
Title: Re: Non-circulating shows
Post by: Marmar on July 08, 2006, 05:11:26 PM
All of the above are acceptable.....

The more different listening environments used the better......

There are a TON (literally) or acceptable 5.1 amps/recievers out there.......many of them are VERY reasonably priced.....

Using your computers headphone amp would be akin to listening on a walkman.....so that's ok.

Since I can't have my McIntosh set up here in this tiny appartment (I'd be blowing walls out), I went out and bought a consumer home system.....it's a Yamaha. I got the amp and 6 speakers (w.powered sub!) for about $320:
http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=200043&CTID=5000800

Then I added a cheap 5 disc dvd-a changer:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001WV6ZU/ref=nosim/102-9462097-4692906?n=172282

to compliment the McIntosh dvd-a player I have:
http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/mcprod/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=19&cat=Sources&prodid=1094&product=MVP851

Amazingly...after testing it with a scope, its almost as accurate as my computer is.......now to answer specifically:

1.  Do you always listen in a good room through speakers or is it acceptable if you have the proper headphones?
Both.

2.  I assume that the built-in headphone amp will not suffice.
Never assume....most headphone amps are the same.....unless you get into control room headphone amps......

3. if I can't use headphones, can I run that output to another amp or will that be too distorted?
Certainly.....that's how I have the 5.1 out of my computer. I use my onboard SPDIF output to my 5.1 amp.......theres no distortion.....if you get distortion, then it's likely on the source  :-)

The key thing is when you are testing 5.1, you absolutely MUST have 5 identical speakers + sub.......for 2channel testing, anything will do.....

I can either txfer it myself or I can let somebody more gifted handle it... (if it's even necessary to circulate it).

That's cool, then.  I like the sound of Neuman mics anyway.  I usually txfer at 16/44, but I know a lot of y'all prefer 24/48's.  I don't want to bog anybody down, but I can send out the tapes to somebody who can do the recording real justice rather than me and my mediocre skills and cheapie equipment.

If you do indeed have those shows, and they haven't ever been mp3d, please post them.  If you can't, contact one of us here, send a disc or 2 and we'll post them.  They are probably on the list due to no db.etree entry.  It's great that you have these.  Any of the shows missing parts will remain on the list, but will need to be noted as just missing pats or whatever.  Nice find Bizarro, let us know the details, get them circulating, and we'll update the list as necessary.

Thanks again,

Oh, a few things I found.

4/26/90 Oberlin, OH  - Sweet Adeline missing
-Marmar has, or will post this show in its entirety.

10/6/91 St. Paul, MN - Squirming Coil, Sweet Adeline, Llama missing
-There's an ongoing discussion about having a full copy of this show.

3/19/93 Redlands, CA - COMPLETE
-Marmar has, or will post this show in its entirety.  He was looking into some QC.

Here's a more up to date list where I'm getting this information.  This week, we'll be promoting this Phish Wiki.  We just wanted to have more content so the task of getting the wiki to a good point didn't seem too daunting.

http://wikipaug.net/index.php/DNC (http://wikipaug.net/index.php/DNC)

IMO, if you can seed these, start with the most recent, COMPLETE shows and work back.

BTW, FREEBARACCO, the wiki list shows that the entire 12-8-89 show does indeed circulate.  Can anyone verify that?

NO CRAP!!??  You've been hard at work.  I knew you were going turbo, but this is way more than I thought.  I'll update the wiki list.  I assume you noted if any tracks are missing?  I'll look at the db entries for these anyhow as I'm updating the list.  I'll also assume that you've kept the db updated with your new sources?

your work is appreciated!

J

I'd be happy to upload anything off of that list. I unfortunately don't have any of them in their original format that Marmar posted. Marmar, what shows did I put on that list that you didn't put on etree? I can upload the other stuff. Just let me know what, if anything, I can do.

I have the sources for most of the shows I listed. I can assure you that the WNEW interview was not from etree. I'm uploading Big Cypress on to complete my Project 99 thing for PT. I'll take care of the Interview next. Good stuff talk-wise, typical Hoist songs for the actual stuff played. I've been a fan of the band's interviews that I've come across.

Nice, thanks.  I'll actually grab that one too as I don't have it.

I'll let you all know as the list gets updated.  If you look at it and see anything that does circulate that is still on the list, just do a quick check to verify that it in fact does circulate, and to what extent (a single set/missing tracks/etc.) and feel free to update the list as you see fit.  It's a wiki so anyone (registered) is allowed to edit pages.

Rock on.

Also...check the BitTorrent Postings thread here......look at all of the 12 days of marmar posts......all but 2 or 3 of those are new to the digitized trading world......unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the db.etree up to speed since Jason was on wh00pie duties that week.....I do, however, keep a folder in my share in the shnfamily hub of ANY new shows to circulation......I'll take inventory and get a list so we can get the wiki up to speed........of course, I do have all these new sources on DAT for a few shows still here, on top of the tapes Caravan recently sent (4-20-90!!!!).......so I dunno......I'm just lost in a HUGE pile of uncirculated tapes at the moment.....

Now...I must get back to dissecting these newly found summer '93 sbds!

Great work guys.  I took the most recent list that you sent me mar, and I updated the Wiki list.  There were only like 4 that we hadn't been on top of.  I really haven't had the time to keep updating the wiki list, but I try.  Eventually it'll get small enough that we'll be able to comb it finer.  Add shows with notes like 1/2 of Runaway Jim missing or really poor quality shows to the list, or even make up a new page for that kind of stuff.

I'll try to get on it more, but if we can find someone who is willing to spearhead that page of the wiki, that'd be the best.

I'm excited about the wiki by the way.  We'll start promoting it to the public this week, I think.

gotta be lossless.  Unless this is the only version that EVER surfaces.  I mean, I'll grab it for completenesses sake, but I think we need to wait till the lossless ones are distributed to call it circulating.

Thanks for the upload anyhow.

This is what I have.  Doesn't look like I can seed it like that, LMK if you want it and I'll figure out a way to get it to you.

hish 5-15-93
Fishman's Geodome, VT

Unknown source
possibly could be from Sony ECM-909>Sony D6C cass. master>Panasonic 3700 DAT

*private party at Fishman's house, involving other members of Phish, friends of Jon's, members of Shockra, etc.
Confirmed via e-mail by Kevin Shapiro; added to Phish Archives 2.10.03

This show is provided for the folks at shnshare from the good folks over at Team HLA. The person who shared these
FLACs with me was unsure of the source but very happy to share. Hopefully this tasty treat will help anyone get through
these tough times.

I've done some research on these FLACs and my conclusion is that this show is from Fishman's Geodome on 5/15/93,
some further information may be found at: http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=148375&show_users=true
and http://www.phook.org/tools/details.jsp?recID=4347269

Please note Shockra was also in attendence and members of the bands intermingle. I don't hear a piano or keyboard
player at any point.

I'm sorry if these files are non-etree compliant and for the lack of source, but its some enjoyable raw Phish. No full songs
more jams using the heads of popular tunes. Feel free to edit these files or update this text file. Please include a thanks
to WC and Team HLA if you modify this file.

Thanks to WC and Team HLA for the seed,
Scotty B - 5/26/04

thanks for the reply.  so it looks like it's something out there.  I don't need you to seed it, I was just wondering what, if anything was already out there.  I just got a couple of DATs from this "show".  I'll have to see what's on each, it might be exactly the same as what you just posted. both DATs are labeled "Sony 909A > D6 > DAT"

Looks like there is some confusion over the source of that show, but all copies seem to hint at that source.
Title: Re: Non-circulating shows
Post by: Caravan2001 on December 13, 2007, 10:05:21 PM
FWIW, My text file for that show reads:

Phish (partial, sort of)

5.15.1993

Fishman's Geodome, somewhere in VT
Private Party
Sony ECM-909->Sony D6C cassette master->Panasonic 3700 DAT

transferred:  Tascam DA-20mk II>Turtle Beach Montego II>Sound Forge 4.5 (normalized,
racked>shntool>mkwact shn

by Dave Schall

Disc 1:  6 tracks
Disc 2:  7 tracks

There are lots of pauses and stops due to the cassette flips and initial
repositioning of the mic.  All major silences from the cassette flips were removed.

This is the confirmation I got from Kevin Shapiro on 2/5/2003 via e-mail when I asked
him about the authenticity of the event:

"i know of the 5/15/93 party from fish's old house (which was a geodome) in VT.  it
consisted of on and off jamming by lots of different musicians including fish and willis,
likely edwin from shockra (he may have made the recording) and many others.  don't think
it was rehearsal-oriented (unlike 5/14/95 which was a pre-lowell rehearsal party by
phish).   that's all i know from what i've hear from folks who attended.  i've never
heard the tape.  we could use a copy for archives and i'd love to hear it if you can send
it along sometime.
talk with you soon.  Enjoy!

From Etree:
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=514648

disco's upload of Set II from this show a few weeks ago prompted us to upload the complete recording. I contemplated seeding only Set I but because this recording was made by a different deck in the chain, I opted to upload the entire thing.

The differences between this version and disco's previous upload are minimal-hardly any tuning before Mike's Groove and the second set tape flip occurs a few seconds sooner.

Also interesting to note is that the marantz deck was used first behind the mics in order to take advantage of the dbx. The dat used in this transfer was made from the d6 cassette master. Hopefully the marantz dbx tapes surface some day.

As always, thanks to Bryon for running the rig and Kevin for the seed and technical notes.

Enjoy.

A guy posted this comment on this seed at etree: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=516547

Quote
Allow me to clear up a few things for the sake of accurate source details. John took a line-out from me this night. I recorded the show using Tascam PE-120 mics into a Sony WM-D6C with Maxell XL-IIs tapes. The left channel mic bettery began to fail right from the get go so I replaced it on-the-fly during Bathtub Gin. The rest of the show sounds great (considering the venue) and there is no level saturation on my masters. If someone wants to coach me in uploading shows, I have several master SBD and AUDs between 1989 and 1991 I'd love to share. I have excellent transfer equipment/software and I know how to use it, I'm just a little shakey on the whole getting a SHNID thing & all that stuff & what have you.

I saw that.  I recently just did a transfer of the same show.  Will have to listen and compare quality. My source is a 3rd gen analog, but is pretty hissy.  A little EQ and it's sweet.  I didn't seed it yet because I thought I could get it to sound a little better.  I bet this one sounds great.  It's a good show.  I tried to have it ready to seed on 4/20, but flailed....

Can someone give me the status of Set 1 from 5-7-94 Bomb Factory, Dallas?  It doesn't appear in the db nor does it appear on the DNC list.  I have a sbd/cass/1G>D of everything except Llama and Horn that I could circulate if it really isn't out there.

Thanks.

Anyone?  Buehler?

I've sent some more random email to random people who list CDRs of very under-circulated shows that don't have a SHN Link on DB...  5/5/92 for example...  I suggest others do the same to round up those missing sources before they get lost forever (see 10/31/91)...
