Even stupider is that the splash page on their website which tells you to go to their myspace
doesn't even link to freaking myspace.

The MySpace page is just a big blue box for me.
Same here.
"This Year's Lineup Announcement is in the hands of the artists!
Throughout the day, artists will be using social media, their websites, email lists and other means of their choosing to announce that they will be playing the 2010 Bonnaroo Festival.
Starting at noon eastern time we will begin to compile the line up as the artists make their announcements."
That's retarded.
Tickets on sale @ noon, too.

I almost did but it is, at least, relevant to the pending announcement.
Or, should I say, lack of announcement?
edit:
Richfield, dude.
wtf is the logic in doing it like that?
(no ban plz)
The same logic that has them making an announcement about the lack of an announcement on MySpace?

Someone on another board dug up the town coucil/city council blah blah blah minutes from the area around Osage Creek or from Osage Creek specifically. I didn't read the minutes myself, but apparently the amphitheatre petitioned for a fest permit with two temporary stages (one large and one small) and a temporary fest atmosphere and was denied because of a lack of resources and infrastructure. This all went down because someone (surprisingly, not me) said something about Arkansas and the jr. P.I. did some internet sleuthing on his own. The petition didn't mention Phish specifically by name, but it was pretty easy to tell that that was what they were going for.
Especially considering Trey's comments concerning traffic prior to 8, I really don't think they would try to do a festy at that site. It's too remote, the infrastructure is too inadequate and it's too fucking hot in July. Osage Creek is a BAD idea.
However, word is that Indio is going to have a Columbus Day Festy!

True story. I saw Tori Amos about 10 or 15 years ago with a girlfriend. I think I was the only male in the place; lots of militant lesbian biotches on hand for the show. Anyway, the way she plays piano is that she straddles the bench (or she used to, keep in mind this was over a decade ago). Well, during one of her songs, and I am not sure if this is (was) a usual occurrence at her shows, she all of a sudden began fucking the piano bench until she got off or faked getting off. One of my weirdest concert experiences ever.

Well, my work sends me to Toronto around 10 times a year and it's at my discretion when I go so I usually plan it for a show that I wouldn't normally have the chance to catch. Belive me, I love Montreal, if they sent me there, I'd be all over it.

Well now you know what the "Tori Amos" is. It can be included with a variety of other acts such as the "Tori Amos plays the rusty trombone" or the the "Tori Amos snowball". Do not attempt the "Tori Amos Praying Mantis".
Some good comedy @ Bonnaroo 2010 with Conan O'Brien in the Comedy Tent, and he'll be MC'ing the What Stage on Fri/Sat.

Well, I saw her and Ani DiFranco opened. LOL!
I may have also been the only guy. This was back in 1996 right after "Boys For Pele." I have no idea what she has been up the last decade or so but during her "Girl and a Piano" phase she was great. Just her and a piano. Great performance. I missed a humping the bench show though. :x With that said...my girl at the time got a migraine and we left early. I wasn't too upset. :-D
And, faux I do not own those albums but I really do enjoy them.

Issued by The National Weather Service

... EXTREME CAUTION ADVISED FOR HEAT AND HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND...
NUMEROUS OUTDOOR EVENTS WILL BE TAKING PLACE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS WEEKEND. THOSE ORGANIZING AND PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR HEAT STRESS.
ALTHOUGH RECORD TEMPS APPEAR UNLIKELY... HIGHS EACH DAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL REACH THE LOW TO MID 90S WITH LOWS IN THE LOW TO MID 70S. HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL BE HIGH... AND THIS WILL MAKE IT FEEL EVEN MORE UNCOMFORTABLE. THE HEAT INDEX EACH AFTERNOON WILL PUSH NEAR 100.
HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND...
DRINK PLENTY OF NON ALCOHOLIC FLUIDS.
WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING.
TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS IN THE SHADE AND TRY TO AVOID SUNBURN.
wow.. wicked temps.
Good weekend to see a show somewhere else.

You know what, in fact, if you're playin Michael Franti and the Spearheads, just don't even... don't come in.
:hereitisyousentimentalbastard
I think this is the first year that I haven't wished I was at Bonnaroo. The line up this year, for most part, is completely underwhelming.

agreed
Rolling! I missed the first few moments of The xx but, and I'm not sure if I will have to swap CF cards, we'll see.

Awesome, it will be nice to have a tape of the Lips doing DSOTM live.
F*** this shit, the Youtube feed is not available in Canada.
Well I lost a big chunk thanks to a bad CF card, I should catch the last hour of Nas/Marley and everything else tonight including DSOTM.
I'm moving down to 256 MP3s for the extra time allowance.
This is what I missed:
June 11 (8:15 p.m. ET/7:15 p.m. CT): The Gaslight Anthem Webcast Live On NPR Music
June 11 (8:45 p.m. ET/7:45 p.m. CT): The Dodos Webcast Live On NPR Music
June 11 (9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT): Michael Franti and Spearhead Webcast Live On NPR Music
Everyone is live setlist whoaring right now so it's probably not too important at this point.

shoot!
how much of The xx did you catch?
50 minutes.
How late do we think Flaming Lips will go? Past 3:30 est?

that would be over 2.5 hours so I seriously doubt it..
Agreed. It may be safe to go to bed.
thanks for grabbing it.
See that big chunk of blank audio? That's somewhere during the Flaming Lips DSOTM, specifically Money.
Not sure if it was my internet connection or an NPR Stream fail :(
NPR is archiving these, I'll record whatever I miss live.
I've pulled Trombone Shorty & Norah Jones today. The Norah set sounds fantastic.
so The Black Keys were on the NPR schedule but apparently withdrew at the last minute? pussies.
James Murphy is wasted. it was 2:30am after all..

He never mentioned being wasted tonight from what I heard.
I don't think he was drunk at that show, he's just like that.

Not sure what that implies. Good thing NPR archived it so I was able to grab it.
Checkin out the Avett Bros, right now. Very good. I'd heard them on WTMD, local Towson radio station. But never live stuff. Really digging this.

fantastic matt!! thanks :beers:
I had to appease Heather and recorded Regina Spektor and She & Him last night instead of Avett Bros, but I will get it tonight.
Before I left for work I grabbed a few of the MP3s and I'm doing the edits now.
I should be able to upload Trombone Shorty, LCD Soundsystem, Dave Rawlings Machine, Norah Jones and Flaming Lips DSOTM throughout the day today.
Any other requests while the gear is hooked up? - the list of archived stuff is here:
