I'll be hitting the Cape on 8/8

lemme guess: a wedding?

what part of the cape?

we should meet up!

I do a family vacay there every year......This year it will only be 3 days, Friday to Monday, I think the 8-11th......We'll be in South Dennis/Dennisport this year....mid-Cape...Where are you at?  It's tight cause I can only see my fam for three days, but if I can find a time, I can try and meet you out for a brew or whatever one of those nights.....I'll also be hitting Cape Cod Community College for a round of disc golf if you play (or want to learn!).....lemme know where you're at.....

right on. i'm like 45 mins from dennisport, so it might be tough to make it up there depending on what i've got going on at the time. but i think thelot lives closer and he might wanna get up with you. i'll keep you posted...

I'll be in the cape then too. About 20 min from Hyannis.

sweet....

They were great, I've given the album a few spins since I've been back from Tennessee too.

Abigail has been all over NPR recently.  I don't know if she is C.I.A. or not, but she sure does sound like it based on her NPR interviews...

Anyways, the music that her and Bela and the other two gentlemen make is fucking beautiful (pardon my German).

She & Him, tonight.

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/07/24/she-him-bring-country-charm-to-toronto-to-start-tour/

"You guys all look so great and you sound so great too!" gushed actress
Zooey Deschanel (the titular "She") to a smitten audience at the Opera House in Toronto, opening their premiere North American tour. "So do you!" shouted one concertgoer in return.

Whether you were lost in Deschanel's baby blues or not, original songs like "Black Hole" and "Change Is Hard" boasted a rootsy, alt-country flavor, relayed by an experienced band that includes
Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark. But there's also a "Him" involved in this equation: Portland's M. Ward, whose surf punk guitar solos and low-heeled harmonies were the shadow to Deshanel's sunshiny Linda Ronstadt-like vocals. Deschanel's melodic tenor got its strongest showcase during a cover of
Joni Mitchell's "You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio," the evening's obligatory Canadian content.

"This is our last song," she revealed to sighs of disbelief, bridging into the poppy "Sweet Darling" that featured an extended piano solo with both her and Ward tickling the ivories. "It's true — we only have one record!"

She & Him Set List:
"Black Hole"
"Change Is Hard"
"I Was Made For You"
"Sentimental Heart"
"You Turn Me On, I'm A Radio" (Joni Mitchell cover)
"You Really Got A Hold On Me" (Smokey Robinson cover)
"Take It Back"
"(Untitled New Song)"
"Got Me"
"Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?"
"This Is Not A Test"
"Sweet Darling"
"Bring It On Home To Me" (Sam Cooke cover)
"Magic Trick" (M. Ward)

You don't sound like you're too set on going..

How could i miss a show like that?

sure there's plenty i could care less about. But Rakim and Mos +De la = enough motivation to get me in front of a speaker.
And that's exctly where you'll wanna be bc they have something to say =-)

Honestly though, this whole post whoring thing is getting to be a little ridiculous.  But does having a higher post count make a cooler pauger?

Damn, I had no such luck this weekend. Know anyone with a couple extras? I'm gonna keep trying, maybe something will pop up,. But yeah, if you know anyone with an extra or two....I'd certainly be interested. :-)
