Seeing Umphreys tonight for the first time since 05.  Free ticket, can't beat that.

Sick looking set for you. I started listening to it earlier today. the segue out of Alex's House into Spires was cool and the Liquid was dirty. Haven't started the 2nd set yet.

I was gonna hit STS9 in Buffalo this Saturday. But due to 'cuse coming outta no where on Phall tour I'm cutting it out.

Umphrey's in Portland, ME in November is my next show.

postjack

Next show is KMFDM, weekend after next in New Orleans.

Two shows I'm on the fence about - I welcome your opinions on both.

1. Black Crowes at Stubbs tomorrow night - I am leaning towards going to this one.
2. Allmans/Panic in Houston on Satuday - I am leaning away from this one.

Thoughts?
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

why the thoughts on skipping ABB / WSP...2 words bro:

Trucks
Herring
His eyes were clean and pure but his mind was so deranged

WillBreathes

The Black Crowes new sound is terrible, IMO.

the Crowes are a $15 cab ride home... so I intend to get drunk and have a good time on a tuesday night.

houston is a 3 hour drive I have to make for work pretty often. Going for fun sounds... less than fun. If I go, it's because of those two, for sure. I love Jimmy Herring, but I freakin' hate WSP. Trucks is the man, and I love ABB, but I hate Warren. It's a strange dilemma for sure!

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own.

I drove 4 hours for ABB/WSP in Birmingham last weekend. Totally worth it.  But I love Panic, and rever Herring and Trucks.

Houston will be the tour closer, Saturday night, should be hot.

Any VA folks planning on seeing Karl Denson at Capital Ale House Nov 3rd? Planning on making the trip over for that even though it's a Tuesday night.

Nope.

I am looking to see a local string band that plays dead covers next Wednesday.
Local hero (to me) Jay Starling plays dobro and steel guitar in the group so it automatically rules.

Rip Van Winklin'

Gonna see Kimock Nov. 5th in Syracuse at Westcott Theater.
Anyone know anything about this venue?????????????

gah

Stevie Wonder tomorrow (Sunday) night!!!

PIE-GUY is officially jealous. Saw Stevie at Jazzfest a couple of years back and it was extraordinarily good. Up there with my lifetime best shows, for sure.

Going to see my friends' band, Giraffe Attack, at Brian Boru's.  The venue is intown Portland and the smoking deck has a view of CCCC.  It will be hard not to keep thinking about the fun to come in November!
Trey at Darien Music Center on 8/13/09 while paying respect to Les Paul
