what does this have to do with this show?

Well, the entire encore is acoustic...
touche.

You would have remembered if you had listened to the show...
OH POP!
Nothing like the smell of a serving in the morning.

Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

Set 1
Simple
Again, ::sighs:: kidding.  Good version.  We get it out of the way early.

It's Ice
tight version.  nice little spooky section in the middle.

NICU
standard yet rocking.

Run Like an Antelope
Shreddage here.  Raging Trey here.  I dig it.  93-94 Antelope always rage and this one delivers.  straight goosebumps.

Guyute
Tight.  Well placed.

Dog Faced Boy
Gimme.  I like the placement here.

Scent of a Mule
nice.  Solid version

The Oh Kee Pa Ceremony >
tight, and we get

Suzy Greenberg
straight rocker here, nice placement again.

Runaway Jim
yes!!!  Excellent way to close the set.

Fire first set, but hey, it's fall 94, you don't rent the Cohen brothers to watch amateur porn like shots, same with 94, expect No Country for Old Men.

SET II

Rift
Always a great way to start the set.  money.

Bouncing Around the Room
Standard, but I like the placement here.

Reba
Please secure all carry on items before take off- hot damn.  soaring jam, solid A version of Reba.

Axilla II
YES.  I really like the placement here.  tight version.

You Enjoy Myself* > Catapult
hot, hot, hot.  Tight composed section.  Great jam.

HYHU > Cracklin Rose > HYHU
piss break.  I use to really like this little "medley" but I find myself bored with it now.

David Bowie
Great way to close the set.  Bowie delivers.  Nice peak in the jam.

ENCORE
Nellie Kane@
Foreplay > Long Time
Amazing Grace

I like it.  Great encores and a fitting cool down after a monster 2nd set.  Second set is just as hot as the 1st set.

Overall this show is a solid A imo.  Great Pick, who would of thought of this one.

Can we talk about the Dead?  I'd love to talk about the fucking Grateful Dead, for once, can we please discuss the Grateful FUCKING Dead!?!?!?!

Set I:

Simple - cool choice for opener.  this one has a real trippy ending.  sweet!

It's Ice - love it.  Page takes over the jam and it rages and I always love the re-entry in Ice.

NICU - nice placement and version

Antelope - way early in the show!  this one is guaranteed to deliver and of course does.. Trey shreds it to pieces.  I'm a sucker for an extended rye rye rocco section and this has it, very interesting.

Guyute - still in it's infancy but I love these early Guyutes.  very well played.

Dog Faced Boy - sweet version.  crowd sounds very quiet with the exception of those occasional folks who spontaneously shout at the top of their lungs.  fades into

Scent - August is loving it!

Oh Kee Pa > Suzy - standard/rocking.

Runaway Jim - double closer.  I like the short jam here led by Trey, ripping yet melodic.

^ just about perfect first set.

Set II:

Rift - this one felt pretty rough all the way around

Bouncing - I'm cool with it.  sets up a

Reba - Page sounds really off to me for some reason during the composed and  the beginning of the jam... jam starts out very quiet before Trey starts in with some choice Reba soloing.  gets all soaring on us too.  whistling included.

Axilla II - the II lyrics can't be any worse than the I lyrics, I kinda like them.  love the II ending, that's for sure.  slams into

YEM - not your average YEM with a VOL narration in the nirvana section.  all sorts of vibrations follow from Mike's solo to the vocals.  crazy YEM!!  some sick soloing from Trey as well as some Simple teases.  WASHHA!

>Catapult - packaged with the vocal jam, this is Fish's baby all the way.  scary and awesome

HYHU>Cracklin' Rosie>HYHU - mostly useless

David Bowie - not useless at all.  more noises from Fish... the jam is so so sick.  killer Bowie to close out the show.

E:

Nellie Kane - play me some mountain music.  sshhHHH!!  cool little jam follows.

Foreplay/Long Time - will they or won't they on 11/1??

Amazing Grace - makes for a sweet encore.

I really enjoyed this show from start to finish.  nothing too crazy unless you count the YEM which was the highlight for me but so many of my favorites are packed in here.  solid '94 goodness from RJ.  A
