I know this program has been mentioned in here before by a number of people but I couldn't find a thread about it.
if you have a large or medium size music collection on hard drives, you need this program.
it creates index files for what is on your hard drive.  invaluable if you ever lose a drive so you know what you need to replace.
also, great for searching if you have a specific source.  if you name your files with the db source number, you dfo a search for that number and it matches it against the hard drives you have indexed.

Thanks, Brian!! This is perfect, as I have spent the last two days trying to organize my collection.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

I upload Cathy around once every year over at LL and have here as well. Awesome tool. There are a couple versions now. Not sure which one this is.

think this is v 2.26
I couldn't find it in my weak attempt on a search here so I started a thread.
I've been reorganizing drives and love this app and wanted to make sure everyone knows about it.
thanks SF.  I am sure it is your torrent I got it from at LL.  I grabbed the last torrent from there last night and it was the same version I already had.

My drives are already extremely organized...  What advantages will this give me???

Thanks,

Terry
Oh! That! No, no, no, you're not ready to step into The Court of the Crimson King. At this stage in your training an album like that could turn you into an evil scientist.

On another note, someone posted a Soft that let me better copy/paste files from one drive to another, let me cue up multiple drives, etc...  What was that called again???

The short answer terry is probably not much.
One example of why I use it is it creates a txt file on a directory tree of what is on my drive.  Makes it easy if you lose a drive to know what was on it especially if you don't keep a db list.  Also, you can share your txt file in google documents and be able to tell if you have that source when you are away from your drive.
I haven't done this but if you use mics in your folder description and typed in "km184" (or whoever you name your folders), it would list all your sources of indexed drives with those mics.
If your sources are scattered on different drives, and you are looking for shnid 102120 (just a random number), you can type that in search and it will tell you where it is if you have it (assuming you use shnid in your folder description)

Thanks,
thanks terry.  I grabbed this.  I was moving a lot of stuff around the last few weeks.  I was creating a checksum and verifying the folder once copied.
probably will still do that but it's nice to have this option too.
