That Berlin show might be my favorite.

Yeah. I've had that one forever and recently just found a new link for it.
Had to give it a spin.

Nice, is it an upgrade in sound? Mine is kind of quiet.

Seems about the same, but there is a German station ID during the encore break which my old copy never had.

I've always really liked this Tube. It is a shade under the Phoenix version, but it always does it for me. These Birds during this tour - fiery, straight to the point affairs - remind me of Llama in years gone by. Bag has its moments. Obviously, top 5 version of Gin.

Cities is great.
Kinda sloppy to begin, but gets pretty epic.
The Rift was a kickdown at that point, too.

Cities was a high point of the year I think, you were wise and lucky to jump on at that point. I only saw ATL that summer.

Having listened to all of 7/98 in the last week, this is the time in their history I think where the Rift tunes started to get away from them. I know there were hiccups with MFMF more than a year before in Germany, but those songs require a high level of skill that they were using the Island Tour funk to hide from.

I don't know, just thinking out loud here.
