Title: Quote/Post of the Year?
Post by: rowjimmy on November 19, 2007, 09:55:21 AM
This'll be a tough one to narrow down so, I thought I'd open it up for nominations. A fun source for quotes is here: http://week4paug.net/index.php/topic,6224.0.html in the Best Quote Ever thread. Remember, only quotes/posts from 2007 are applicable.

So lets see your nominations. I'll be back with one or two soon.

Even though I know you're all being sarcastic, I really have a feeling that these guys are on the crest of a wave thats about to hit....  kinda like Phish in 93/94 when they made the jump to arena's and sheds pretty much permanently.

Afaik their last tour sold out every show, so I'm really expecting them to be able to pull MSG later in the year.

I got one right!

You can't really say shit because 1) you got PWN3D by me in Fantasy Baseball and 2) I don't see any of your predictions finally, 3) my fever was through the roof and I was living in Europe.

Sarcastic or not, taken out of context, the line stands up as a legitimate nominee.

Plus the exclusivity of having the only 'chat' quote provides that extra that you just can't buy in stores.

Yeah, they are saying that that Stones concert was 1,000,000 people.  I went to Peter Gabriel and Ziggy Marley for free at Golden Gate Park in '93 (Womad Fest)  and that was 100,000, which I think is the biggest show I ever saw....maybe Live Aid, but I think this was bigger, and it was HUGE....can't imagine a million

I always wonder just how many people really were at Coventry, we'll never know for sure. . .
My guess is 60-70k. But I'm no statistician.

Sounds about right, although I'm inclined to say more like 70-75K

anyone see the video of the Stones concert in BRazil?

holy shit.
broke the biggest concert ever record.
forget what it was... 1 million?

yeah I saw a clip of it and I think it was a million, that's pretty nutso.
Yeah, they are saying that that Stones concert was 1,000,000 people.  I went to Peter Gabriel and Ziggy Marley for free at Golden Gate Park in '93 (Womad Fest)  and that was 100,000, which I think is the biggest show I ever saw....maybe Live Aid, but I think this was bigger, and it was HUGE....can't imagine a million
yea. I was at Simon & Garfunkle concert in the Park in 82 or so. According to the Wiki, there were over 500,000 people. There were a lot of people there, but I was surprised to see that #. I can't imagine what 1 mill would be.
