Good stuff.  The only negative was I could have listened to Seth for another hour.  Good job, man.

Thanks!

And, yeah, we could have talked longer, I think. I'm starting to get to the point with some of these that we could talk for a couple hours and maybe I edit it down to a tight one?
Sounds like work.

New Episode is up!
https://brokedownpodcast.blogspot.com/2019/06/delfest-2019.html
Ep 46 is all about DelFest 2019.
We've got live music from Billy Strings, Larry Keel, Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, The Travelin' McCourys, and Del McCoury Band.
There's also a segment of the Osiris interview with Adam from YMSB and my full interview with Ronnie McCoury! Both talk about their discovery of Grateful Dead.
Lastly, I've included a short set from Old And in The Way.

Wow.
Seems like a lot.

Here's the picture thingy:

Another oversized episode.
I spoke to four musicians: Andy McLeod, Jon Camp, Eli Winter, and Joseph Allred. Each is a talented player and composer in what might be called the American Primitive school. When you listen you'll learn what I say "might". We talk about the music they make and what inspires them and, eventually, Jon Camp helps me link this all back to Grateful Dead.

I've got some catching up to do!

New ep!

A shallow dive into Quicksilver Messenger Service as we say farewell to Gary Duncan. We spin some live QMS and the heaviest of Grateful Dead sets with Gary Duncan sitting in... 1992-10-31.

Completely spaced posting ep 49 two weeks ago!

It's good one, too.

Ryan Jewell is a great musician and head who has played on a bunch of recent records that I've loved. He's got two new releases to share with us and that launches us into a great discussion.

aaaaND Now ep 50 is up.
Not as exciting to you folks as you've heard the meat of it before, this episode is my Other One Mix.
Hard to believe that I first upped this 14 years ago.

Well, it's back.

Missed posting about 51. News of Neal Casal's passing hit that same day I took the wind out of my self-promotional sails. So now you get a two-fer:

EP 51 features Tashi Dorji. Dorji is free improvisational guitarist and he can really get at it. We talk about his background, growing up in Bhutan, coming to the States, and discovering improvisational music.

EP 52 dropped today and features a tribute to Neal Casal before I dive into my chat with an old friend, Chris Hebbe.

Chris took me to my first Grateful Dead show!
Now he's based in Portland, OR and has his own podcast that looks at the intersections of social justice and cannabis legalization: https://comingoutoftheemeraldcloset.com/

I was getting ready to share this with you guys when I got the news about Hunter.

I think this episode could be fitting and even comforting today. Not that I'm gonna market it anywhere else for the rest of the day.

EP53 is a look at 9/20/70. The acoustic set is a beaut with Grisman & Nelson sitting in, Garcia playing some piano and beautiful vocals. This is because it's right on the heels of the American Beauty sessions.
There's also some killer playing in the electric set.

Dig it.

Thanks for this RJ, it is just what my soul needed.
The closest I could equate this loss to, would be Jerry.
Everything is connected, because it's all being created by this one consciousness. And we are tiny reflections of the mind that is creating the universe.

Obviously there's some music and memories in there but also there's an excerpt from an uncirculated poetry reading form '93.

Evidently my son's Brokedown Podcast shirt is a hit up at UVM.
