We are all and we are all we are
Far flung bits of Sun and bits of Stars
From the  ocean from the land from the
beginning to end
Backwards forwards back toward
we belong

I don't remember exactly when Shawn passed, but I know it was close to this time last year. RIP buddy.

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

I was flipping through my old PMs on here last week (I keep everything, people. Wow.) and amidst some of the usual BS were messages from Sean planning meet ups and whatnot. He was a really good dude.

QFT... as solid as they come. I was walking around SuperballIX grounds with him early in the day and at least 3 people I had never met (not-paugers) came up to say hi to him. His reach was far and wide in the Phish community. Could not have been nicer about it all, too.

Seeing pics from tour just reminds me of how lucky we were to know Shawn.  Dude always managed to get the best shots of the boys doing their thing on stage!

Every time I'm at a show I think about that kid. I didn't know him well, but I miss him, for sure.

gah

On multiple occasions this past weekend, I thought of Shawn and wished he were still around to capture those moments when everything linked up perfect, the music, lights, crowd, energy, etc.  I took a moment to simply be thankful for my life. I was thankful to be at a show at all, and when the band screwed up, I laughed it off with them. When they didn't deliver on the songs I wanted them to, but then surprised me at other times, I took it for what it was.

Regardless of what you think of the shows so far this tour, or the state of Phish in general, if you take a moment at every show when the lights are just right and take a mental picture (because thats the only one you're going to get), I think you'll find your appreciation for the moment to be greatly heightened.
Sometimes we live no particular way but our own.
