If that was in my hometown, I may consider it.
There's just only so much Trey can do solo.

The solo set I saw him do back in 2010 or so I thought was great. Campfire sing along to Phish songs with the man himself. Might not sound like much but it was a lot of fun.

I saw Trey on the '99 Acoustic/electric tour and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Were any of these remotely local I'd cut a bitch to attend.

This is a gross misunderstanding of what Trey can do as a guitar player.

I saw Trey acoustic/electric a few years back.  The acoustic portion was loads of fun.  I ended up leaving early during the electric portion out of boredom.  Acoustic Trey rules.

I had no interest in these shows and turned down an easy opportunity for a ticket.
but I heard today that the North Hampton ticket was $94 with fees.  I'm all set with that.

I haven't seen Trey acoustic since May 17, 1999.  I tried for Portland tickets, but I think they sold out in 10 seconds or so.

Anyone have an extra pair?

Ive seen trey do the acoustic set breaks in 2007-2008 a couple times. Along with the Rothbury Acoustic show with Mike and Fishman sit in.
Pretty fun stuff. Wilson, bathtub, Harry Hood, CDT, typical ones like waste, inlaw josie wales, Sample, etc.
Playful vibe and would be nicer in a intimate smaller venue but not sure I would pay 100 bucks for that.

I  have seen Trey acoustic several times.  It's usually pretty good.  Def prefer this over TAB.  Wouldn't pay $94, but I would probably pay $34 and would definitely pay $21.50 or less.

I agree, but I've got nothing better to do lol.
The few times I've seen him solo acoustic have been fun. Mostly for the bathtub gin sing along. But I'm not kicking myself for missing out on this one.

This. Plus when I saw him in '99 it was the first time he had played the Murat Theater since '94, but of course he talked about the '93 Gin that night.

Also back in '05 the best part of the 70 Volt Parade show was when Trey came out acoustic during set break to play Ripple for Jerry on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

"I'm gonna come back in four years and play Bathtub Gin, again... in this room." Not a lot, but everyone knew what he was referring to.

Listening back to that show and looking at the setlist file, I realize that I saw the first BOTT and Heavy Things that night (also Windora Bug, if that counts for anything).

Nope. The next time her played that venue was in the Egyptian room in 2014, 15 years later. And he still did not play Bathtub Gin.

I've actually never heard that tune...but the even bigger bust out here is Glide II!  That's a good tune, IMO. Simple, floaty and catchy. I want to hear a Mikes>Glide 2>Weekapaug.

I only got to catch the second of the two boulder shows last night. Kinda bummed I missed the first night.

Straight up - if you love Phish/Trey like I (we) do.... how could you possibly have a bad time? It's our dude... up there, pouring his heart out. I cried like seven times.

I will say I kiiiinnnnda feel like I missed the better night of the two. Lotta new songs last night.... which I didn't hate, but I do wish I caught some stuff he played on night 1. Also.... did anyone else who caught these shows think his "looped guitar" sounded like garbage??? It honestly confused me. The second he clicked that loop pedal it sounded like what he played was coming from a 1950's radio. I assume it was an artistic choice, to keep his "live" guitar sounding up front, but it was just weird to me...

Also... nearly $100 ticket?! Wtf. Dude has gotta be raking in the $$$.

I mean sure he's rich, but these are pretty small rooms, right? It's not like there's 15-20k heads in there. Maybe a couple thousand seats, at most of these gigs?

I've actually never heard that tune...but the even bigger bust out here is Glide II!  That's a good tune, IMO. Simple, floaty and catchy. I want to hear a Mikes>Glide 2>Weekapaug.

Glide II for sure, big bust out.  But you've never heard Snowflakes in the Sand?  You really need to revisit May '99, both acoustic and electric sets.  Awesome stuff there.

Haven't listened to both shows but Boulder 1 is the shit.

Still really happy with Eugene show I saw, but he might have topped it on Friday with the bust outs and Sleep and Pebbles and Marbles which are two I haven't seen since 09 and would love to catch again.

I could be wrong but I don't remember him playing with a looping pedal at all in Eugene. I was actually surprised because I know he was doing that quite a bit on the tour last year.

Even though tix were pricey, well worth it, would love to see another one of these shows, really unique and special experience.

I don't remember him looping at Eugene either.  Listened to Denver 1 and it sounds great, but I have really like all of them.  The only ones I have not heard yet are Boulder 2 and Redding.  Have really enjoyed it.  I think face with fees was $90 for the highest tier in Eugene.  Well worth it I think.  But the Eugene show was not sold out and by the time the show came around, tix were $30 online and also free ones stuck into the side of the venue.  I wish I had snapped a pic of those.  That said, super scalper Hicks took both my pair and my brother in laws pair and got good dough for them 30 minutes before the show.  I wasn't even going to bother going out and trying to sell them and Hicks took up the challenge and sold four basically worthless (market value I mean) tickets in like 15 minutes.  It was miracle.  And all the while doing that ended up buying another single and flipping that at profit too.  Guy is a stud.

Attended Boulder1 show and it was amazing. Def teared up a couple times like Scotty said. I was about 20 rows back in the orchestra section. Ticket was 98 bucks with fees. Totally worth it for 1 night but couldn't drop that two nights in a row.
The bust outs were fun, I didnt recognize snowflakes in the sand was that big of a bustout until I checked the set after. Glide II was really cool.
Thought he would tell more stories but seemed to want to play more this night. Loved the Brain & Robert, If I Could, Lizards segment.

I think the best shows are the 9:30 Club and the final one in Albany.  It's also cool to check out the first one from 2/15 at Higher Ground to see how much  better they got in that short amount of time.

Heh, yeah I was hustling hard. Buying the row G off of a kid for $10 and then selling it for $40 two minutes later as I was walking into the venue was pretty gangsta.   8-)

I also like Snowflakes in the Sand as a better acoustic song, relative to Glide II.  The song is also somewhat significant as part of the "trilogy of duologies" that debuted that May '99 tour, which included "Bug" and "Windora Bug", "First Tube" and "Last Tube", and "Sand" and "Snowflakes in the Sand".

I had a great, crisp copy of that show on tape back in the day, which I played constantly, and I still listen to it on a regular basis (the show itself, not my old tapes).  The first set, especially the stuff with Tom, is both fun and beautiful.  And the whole second set, from Jibboo through Voodoo Child, is sick.  And if that Row Jimmy encore doesn't give you chills, I don't want to be your friend.

A full LP release would be fantastic.

I'll just say, for those that have not seen one of these shows is that they are very worth the effort.  Drove down and back from Eugene (2 hours each way) and I probably would have driven to Seattle if I had to.  It's a worthwhile show.  Try and sit close if you can.

I'll just say, for those that have not seen one of these shows is that they are very worth the effort.  Drove down and back from Eugene (2 hours each way) and I probably would have driven to Seattle if I had to.  It's a worthwhile show.  Try and sit close if you can.

Couldn't agree more

Does anyone know what's up with presale?  Do I need a code or password?

I got some pretty nice seats for the show in Eau Claire.   Easiest tickets ever.  Looks like it only seats 1200 people.

like I said, my wife pulled me a pretty good ticket during Trey's onsale, but I was off on Friday so I thought I'd check out the public onsale.  the riverside theater uses etix.  right off the bat, i pulled a 6th row seat, but it was far on the side.  it was a tough choice, but i tossed it back.  i was able to get in multiple times.  i was pulling best available single seats every time, and the seats were slowly moving their way down the floor.  i kept at it, knowing my goal.  a few times later, i had a seat way at the back of the floor!  then the next seat...boom!  front row balcony!  my favorite spot!  CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!

Nice. I had front row balcony, dead center for one of the TAB shows last weekend and it was perfect.

Front row balcony is what I had for Al Di Meola and Peo Alfonsi, Dr. Dog and then MSMW.
Definitely my favourite spot for a theatre show.

Yeah... I'm very psyched about the seats I pulled.  They are 5th row and way off to the side, but at the Ryman the "pews" all curve so hard we will face directly at trey without any turn of the neck at all.

I checked out the TM onsale and the only better seats were platinum at $500+. Fuck that shit.

That Milwaukee poster is pretty cool. They Dayton one was garbage though. I sure hope Indy gets a good looking poster. But no matter what, Trey is going to be great next Saturday. I am over the moon happy to see him do a solo acoustic show again after 20 years!

Saw the show on Saturday up in Minneapolis, I thought it was a lot fun!

Twist > Strange Design was awesome, IMO.  He crushed Twist and I thought that momentum carried over into Strange Design.  Not sure I have ever heard him sing that well, like, ever.

Fun times!

Really enjoyed the show last night.   This theatre is less than a year old and funded by Bon Iver.   It's supposedly one of the top 10 acoustically perfect theatres in the world.

The sand was really good with loops and spacey lights that looked like aurora borealis.   The cover of towers by bon iver was really good too.  And fluffhead!  He actually did a really good job of it.

Of course I had to buy the poster.
