Title: road trip phish...
Post by: AfterMidnight on April 07, 2009, 11:01:06 AM
i can never make up my mind on which shows to take on a trip, so if you could only take 5 phish shows on a trip which would they be?

btw: listening to chalk dust from 7.19.99 never heard it before and it is making my head spin.

The Island Tour and 12/31/1995 worked out really well for me on a road trip once.

If you had to pick, I'd say shows you've been too. Always nice to drive and go down memory lane. Also festivals area good for really long road trips so you can hear a whole weekends worth.

I've run a couple 1/2 marathons in VA Beach, and was planning on doing another this fall, and am trying to think of which show I want to listen to. It's a great opportunity to go through a show straight through. 1st one I did, I listened to 08/09/98, in honor of running in Va Beach...next one I did I used a compilation of 05/21/00, 05/22/00 from RCMH....

Cypress.

Indeed, perfect for long road trips.

That is about the only time I have had the pleasure of listening to cypress from start -> finish.

How about some summer 98s like 7/16, 7/21 or 7/29?

The best of the Halloweens.

For sure, one of my top favorite Phish shows. Just barely behind Glen Falls' Halloween.

Eh, sometimes it's entertaining to hear the differences of the songs within the different years.

My shows would be...

10.31.94
10.31.96
4.2-5.98
12.30-31.99

Over five shows, but heck, it'll be a long, enjoyable ride. I can just drive like an elderly woman to get the shows in

Colorado 1990
Spring 1992
August 1993
Summer 95 and 96
Fall 1996
Europe 1997
Fall 1997
Fall 1998
Japan 2000 (underrated, imo)

Don't ask me for dates, I don't like singling out that shit. Each one of those I picked has more than enough moments to choose from.

ummm yea... i meant 7.10 sorry  :-)

There was a time when I thought that was the most beautiful music(chalkdust) ever played. It may have had something to do with the girl I heard it with. :? Have to listen again to see if it holds true. Not a huge Water fan, but that version is also extra bubbly.

Island Tour
11/19/97 Maybe, third show, it's the one where I started really dancing and never stopped.
