We're pretty much just waiting on all the new merch to arrive so we can take pictures of it all and get it up on our site. So.... somewhere in between now and I don't know.

Lets get a tour update bud! How have the twiddle shows been specifically.

This past week has been craaaazy. Probably the biggest run for us ever. Huge crowds, amazing venues and we really connected with their fanbase, made a lot of new, young fans! Also sold more merch in 5 shows than we usually do on full tours.

Say what you will about Twiddle, but I no longer have anything but positive things to say about them and their crew. They were extremely accommodating, friendly and humble. They're just out there doing the best they can and having fun. There was no ego or anything - we just partied it up! They got a crazy tour bus and everything.

Most of their crew, including their engineer, works with Mike Gordon band as well so it was prettty cool to here some stories. Burlington is a small town so apparently all the serious crew guys generally all work with the same few VT based touring acts.  Oh..... and these guys have played/are playing again with Phil!!! I got to hear personal Phil Lesh stories. Just mind blowing. And they are as in shock as anyone else. Their bass player told me every time they've played with him he asks Phil how they should approach playing with 2 bassists.... should one stay high? The other low? He said Phil's same response every time was "oh, I don't know what I'm doing up there.... I just do my own thing....you just do your thing"  :hereitisyousentimentalbastard

They got a crazy tourbus and everything.

Most of their crew, including their engineer, works with Mike Gordon band as well so it was prettt cool to here some stories. Burlington is a small town so apparently all the serious crew guys generally all work with the same few VT based touring acts.  Oh..... and these guys have played/are playing again with Phil!!! I got to hear personal Phil Lesh stories. Just mind blowing. And they are as in shock as anyone else. Their bass player told me every time they've played with him he tries to ask Phil how they should approach playing with 2 bassists.... should one stay high? The other low? He said Phil's same response every time was "oh, I don't know what I'm doing up here.... you just do your thing"  :hereitisyousentimentalbastard

There is a lot to love here Scout, happy to read all of this! The ATL/BHam shows specifically looked pretty nutso  :wtu: :wtu: :wtu:

(also, it should be noted, that is the first and likely only time "twiddle" will ever be typed into my search bar, despite what scotty says  :hereitisyousentimentalbastard )

Those new ones weren't working for me.  Not nearly enough tape on them.  Ideally last night's mishap brings back the tape look.  Also, I almost always buy the glasses insurance.

Amongst a tour w/ an abnormal amount of highs for us, this one might have taken the cake for me. The Variety Playhouse (http://iwallyphoto.com/new-gallery-62/) is one of the nicest venues we've ever played and I personally had amazing stage sound this night (a rarity). One of those rooms where I hit my kick drum and can FEEL how gigantic it is for the audience. It's a super powerful feeling that I've only experienced a handful of times. Theatres are a whole new ballgame sound wise when compared to clubs. Me likey.

I wish we would've got a better recording this night. It's a bit off center and I think there's an issue with one of my AKGs... but you can get a solid feel of how big the room was and how enormous the sound was in general, which I feel made us step things up a notch.  It's a pretty straight forward, quick show, but we really hit some huge peaks in almost every jam and the audience response was great! Would play again!

The first night w/ Twiddle was unfortunately a throw away experience for us. Sound engineer in Greenville was filling in and completely incompetent - which made for a frustrating stage experience. I remember thinking we did 'as good as we could' for how horrendous the sound was. So, not a positive experience on my end that night.

It's pretty unique playing to these big crowd who don't know us.  I'm sure 90% of the crowd in Atlanta had no clue who we were, which creates an interesting dynamic. People don't know when to react because they don't know the music. Furthermore, our sets were like... 8:00-8:45... which, for better or for worse... the crowd is very sober... which leads to some awkward-ish silences between songs in a venue that size.

Also, I don't know if you were aware of this or not, but the Boathouse Live (Newport News, VA) uses a photo from a show of you guys as their official image for all mailings...pretty cool, guess it's in homage to the fact that you guys were the ones to first play that venue.

For real though, considering asking for an air BnB for my Bday from one of the folks, would you be into that scotty?

Yes, I remember Tony getting too high. If I remember correctly, he said he kept one finger... to one note....and didn't venture beyond that the entire night because he was incapable.

As for the AirBnB.... if you book it...  sounds aweomse...

finally got around to uploading the West Coast run..

11/09 - John's Alley Tavern - Moscow, ID (https://archive.org/details/jauntee2018-11-09.flac16)

11/16 - Hogan's Pub - Clarkston, WA (https://archive.org/details/jauntee2018-11-16.flac16)
11/17 - The Murray Bar - Livingston, MT (https://archive.org/details/jauntee2018-11-17.flac16)

Kind of a weird run in general, half of the shows had basically no one in attendance and I think the music reflected that. I was also sick a few nights so it's hard to "get into it" when you're feeling that way.   Seattle > Talent > Portland would be my picks to listen to though if you're going to pick a few.....

My AKGs also broke this run, so the recordings are sub-par for our standards, IMO but those will be back in action for 2019.
