Sorry you missed it by a night.
That second set had a nice sticky sweet trippiness to it. I enjoyed.
Countdown is down to 3 days until this guy gets to :beers: :smoke: 8-) :-D :phish:  :beers: :rockout: :wtu: :sbw:   :-D :tte:

Do you even Billy Breathes bro?
Man it's so fun to watch this band play like they have been. Totally unpredictable
They're just feeling loose up there. Even that possum was a rager!
I can't wait to rewatch that 46 days jam. I swear, Fishman did the most ridiculous LOUDROCKCRASH fill for a bout 20 seconds, so much that he lost the tempo and Trey just laughed at him. Fish was FEELIN it!
Best band evah!
Is this still Steep?
Note to Terry: You were right. That performance of Daniel Saw The Stone was gospel all the way.

I missed 46 Days on the stream. What was going on there? It sounds like an 8 year old kid was playing keys.
What a great night.
Not sure if it translates on tape but the Hendrix-y O Canada was a real treat, place going nuts with the spotlight on the maple leaf. Lost some stem for a bit and I was kinda dismayed when they didn't give Sugar Shack the Lawn Boy treatment, but from Daniel on was the straightforward goods (took a leak at Army of One). Maple Leaf Rag was a nice treat and McGrupp was especially on point. And the second set (minus Leaves; side note, I didn't mind Leaves from my couch in Chicago but last night it didn't really work for me) was incredible. Think I'd give the nod to Piper for jam of the night but it's pretty much a tossup between that, Golden Age and Steep. Possum was pure unadulterated fun.
Great to see anthrax and :wtu: preshow (albeit for entirely too short a time). Looking forward to catching up with you guys and my first night in the paug section tonight. Mikes second jam or GTFO.
Leaves, as a song, can pretty much suck it.
The jam seems to have potential though.
Every single phish show this tour is hitting me in just the right spot...this is the best!
Pretty surprised they didn't play TTE last night.
Will it stay on the shelf?
Didn't love the second set, didn't seem to go as deep as some of the other nights, and the maple theme didn't bring any second set surprises...
I don't dislike Leaves at all, and as WTU said, the jam has a lot of potential
I like Leaves.

This. I didnt' like it when they played it. But the jam was crunchy for sure.

The world may never know!
That show was a whole lot of fun! I actually loved all the ballads in the 1st set. They could play all those songs and I'd love it. The 2nd set was just perfect, although abandoning that SICK 3.0 funk groove in 46 Days for the Drums jam was a bit of a disappointment. First time in 3.0 they've played a song faster than normal? That 46 Days was out of control, Trey and Fishman pushing the tempo like crazy haha.
Steep jam FTW though. Holy fucking shit that ruled. Also, POSSUM! I knew when they started it that Trey was going to milk the shit out of the tension build in the middle. Loved it.
Super short encore was a little confusing though.

I like Leaves.
This!
I'm digging it... hoping I'll keep digging it.
No one really talking about that Golden Age? Shit stands up on a second listen. I mean I'm on board with the Steep for damn sure, and 46 Days was a rager, but that Golden Age...
During the opening lyrics to leaves, you could hear a pin drop in msg. Heady attentive crowd.

damn straight.
I like this show. Another solid one for the stack.
This version of Crowd Control is wonderful.
That comment is likely to fall into the paug "Who gives a shit?' bucket - I think I am the only one here who likes Undermind on the whole - but it shows that as Phish pushes their long forms with various rates of success and failure, their short forms tighten up considerably.

I like Undermind, but I always skip Crowd Control.
I hate Crowd Control.
Until this version.
It works for me.
Leaves I could take or leave(s), but this Steep though... Damned if that isn't just some classic bad ass phishery right there. Just got through it again and it's even better the second time.

Steep jam is gorgeous. I really love how they re-arranged this tune in 3.0
.... I do miss the scream though...

Yeah, I miss the scream with that super dissonant chord. I was telling my buddy about that part while we were watching it. Also.... how about the glorious burn they're giving you for saying "all they know how to do is peak major key jams" hahaha. That's all I've been thinking about this run, how all the big jams now are MINOR. I love it. So much.
Alright, so this hysterical Fishman moment I was talking about takes place at around 1:55-2:27 during this 46 Days.
What the hell is he doing?! He drastically speeds up and slows down 3 times in that period and hits the drums so hard!
eta. Also, they are actually doing things with this Possum. Tension! Maybe one of the best/fun versions I've seen. I've seen a lot.

I went and listened - sounds like he was trying to get someone's attention in the band... or he just had a Moonie attack.

He definitely got Trey's attention. He immediately looked at him and laughed.
