Figured I'd start this. The oft-discussed undefeated season for the defending champs is not going well at the moment.

Thanks for getting us started. Can't wait for Sunday!

looks like it.
my contribution to the nfl thread
So my Packers looked interesting. Our D looked mean, and that has been the weakest part of our entire team for the past 5-6 seasons. Rodgers had some flaws, and the offense looked a little lame... that's kind of par for the course against that insanity that is the Seahawks D. Pretty excited for next Sunday's christening of the Falcons new digs.

don't forget about their sweet run game
I thought Collinsworth was bad....Beth Mowins and Rex Ryan have lowered the bar.
ESPN Deportes?
Forget that....did anyone just hear that sideline report?

Unreal ending. The final "last play" netted me some points in my matchup against zimbra, but I guess we have another thread for that discussion. That was an entertaining game to watch.
I don't know why but this is hilarious to me.

Also, can we sticky this thread and unstick last years?
Gotta love seeing a wide receiver punching a guy in the helmet. Trying to get suspended and injured at the same time. :hereitisyousentimentalbastard :shakehead:
Yo, gbl, got any hotel recommendations for Minneapolis, say around the first weekend in February?

I'd actually prefer that. Who wants to go to Minneapolis in February anyway? I'll prob hold out for our inevitable run through Hotlanta > Miami > LA.
Seriously though, I know it's probably painful for you, but this team is really good.

Eagles are definitely legit this year.
Fuck. My. Life.
The nfc is so nuts this year. How crazy is it? With three games to play, the New Orleans Saints could still land the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC or even miss the playoffs altogether.
Cutler with the moves!!!

nothing to see here folks. Move along
That call was brutal
I've watched that play about 10 times since. James clearly lost control of the ball when it hit the ground. That's the rule - that's how they call it.
Then the Pats get a pick. I thought Ben was gonna spike and kick a FG to tie.

great interview with Belichik. Gotta love the guy
Quote
The New England Patriots signed Pittsburgh Steelers franchise sack leader James Harrison on Tuesday. With Bill Belichick meeting the media Wednesday morning, inquiries into the acquisition were obvious.
While it wasn't at "On to Cincinnati" level, Belichick clearly had no interest in providing insight into how the Patriots plan to use the 39-year-old defender.
Below is a transcript of the back-and-forth:
How would you describe James Harrison's playing style?
"He's played outside linebacker for the Steelers. We'll see how it goes."
Is there carryover from what they asked him to do and what he could do for your team?
"Yeah, I don't know. We'll start working with him and see how it goes."
What are your thoughts on his career?
"Good."
How much of a factor did his experience in big games play a role in the decision to sign him?
"Yeah, we can't control any of that."
You guys have a lot of experience playing against him. Is the process different when bringing in a guy like that as opposed to someone with less experience?
"Every player is different."
Do you put any stock into the fact that he could provide valuable intelligence given his familiarity with the Steelers and their system?
"Well, we're playing the Jets this week. I don't really know what that has to do with it. Maybe I'm missing something. I don't know."
What about looking ahead to any possible matchups in the playoffs?
"Well, we play the Jets this week."
Good job, good effort, Boston Media.
Holy shit!
Incredible finish. Sorry, PG

All joking aside, that would have really sucked as a Saints fan, my condolences.
It became clear the winner of the Saint/Vikings game was getting to the Super Bowl. It also became clear Brees was the only man left who could come close to hanging with Brady. While the end of that game was extremely exciting, unfortunately it basically handed the Patriots another title.

Watch your mouth!
Seriously though...Case Keenum, Nick Foles, Blake Bortles, and........Tom Brady.
So when's the last time a Super Bowl has been played at home?
It would be so satisfying to see the Vikes lay the smack down on those Pats!
Pats need to get by the Jags 1st.
Jags VP of operations or players or something like that is Tom Coughlin. He knows a thing or 2 about beating the Pats in big games.

Welp. So much for that home field advantage Super Bowl....
what was that slop that the vikings rolled out onto the field yesterday? i expected them to do a little more with their miraculous win in the divisional round. i would have much rather see the saints play the eagles. they would have at least made it entertaining.

As I am from South Jersey, I have a lot of friends and family who are Eagles fans. One of them posted this meme, but with spelling errors. One of them was...."defelates balls". I love the lousy spelling on the internet.
Still can't believe this (being in the super bowl) continues to happen to my team.
Coming from me, an avid pats hater, these guys obviously have it down to a science.
I'm just trying to stir the pot.
Too lazy to start a new thread, but Fox just played First Tube going to commercial.

So I happened to tune in to the latter part of the Bills vs. KC game today and that was possibly the greatest ending to a game I've ever witnessed!
All four games were crazy this weekend.
That sucked!
watched both of the games yesterday, wild!
between those and the nuggets/pistons game I didnt get off the couch much yesterday O0
Bills/Chiefs was the best NFL game I've seen in years, balls to the walls action the entire game.

Same. The last 2 minutes of regulation....wow.
I had a laugh thinking about all of the whining the Chiefs fans/players did after the Pats won the coin toss in OT in the AFC championship game two years ago and scored a TD to win without the Chiefs (and more importantly, PAT MAHOMES) getting to touch the ball in OT. They all seemed happy with the rule last night...
Epic games for sure. Jeers to Buffalo's Defense late and in OT. Its mind blowing that they left Kelce wide open on a few plays. Also the Bills seemed to lack urgency defensively, appearing to miss more and more tackles as the game went on. In short, your defense sucks Buffalo!
All the complaints about the NFL OT is legit mind bottling, it's always been sudden death and they've made it better with the TD rule. Have these whiners never seen an NFL OT game before?
I watch like two games/year and I know how it works!
Both teams should get the ball in OT.
I like the concept of Team A scored a TD in 6 plays, Team B has to score a TD in 6 plays or they lose.
Watching Sean Payton's "retirement" presser right now. Gonna try not to cry.
QuoteBoth teams should get the ball in OT.
THIS.
was rooting for all the road teams last weekend. extremely entertaining and great results. bummed about the bills, but if you can't stop a team from going 50 yards in less than 20 seconds you don't deserve shit.

Both defences were shot and couldn't stop either team, the coin flip determined the winner.
Yeah Bills get the ball back and score and then Chiefs get the ball back and score again, same outcome and good chance of someone getting injured, don't see the point in that.
The Chiefs defense gave up 442 yards and their defense did not have to take the field in Overtime because of a coin flip.
College overtime is the best but the nfl is too arrogant to adopt something they didn't think of first.

this - that touchback was the game-losing decision. The kickoff should have landed on the 5-yard line so it had to be played and time taken off the clock.

They'd probably pronounce it (in unison) Come-Anders. As long as they don't go the Workaholics route and put a hard 'an' at the beginning of the second part.
