usa, usa, usa.   vent, rant, gloat, whatever - let it out

For me, personally...

most bummed = Russ Feingold (Wisconsin) loses senate seat.  That really sucks imo - he's one of the good guys.

actually made me smile and feel good = Jerry Brown wins Gov of California

wild one out here in colorado, w/ bennet claiming victory today but buck hasnt conceded anything yet.  its no longer close enough to trigger an automatic recount, but there was one point last night when the denver post was reporting the margin to be a mere 400ish votes.

feel good story for me was manchin winning wv's senate seat.

Somebody had to replace a legend. Jim Machin is a great choice. It is a total barn burner out there in CO, watching closely on that one.
Here in Iowa, only of my friends dates a girl who's dad is a state senator. I like him a lot, and have played golf with him on occasion. He was being challenged by a tea partier in a (usually) very left leaning district. He is currently losing by 13 votes with about 500 absentees still out. They had to be postmarked yesterday, but this one is coming down to a razor wire, and his opponent is a complete tool. Yay USA.

Also, I'm with you as well StCarl, Feingold was a champ, and he will be sorely missed. Wow.

Just saw a Bennet Wins headline on the interweb.  Didn't look to see what the other guy says about it, though.

Looks like it may be close enough here to have a recount before we get a new Gov.

Great.  The last one was a blast for everybody.  Really brought people together.  (it didn't)

as much as I dislike Boehner (?sp), Bachman scares me

No dispensaries or casino here and the governor race is still too close to officially call, not that the Democratic candidate is anything to get excited about.

But, I don't think our fans do happily lap it up, I think they go online and talk about how it was a bad show.

let bachman make her way up in the party

in the end, it just polarizes them more

shes a fuckin loon and she is not a unifying figure in any sense of the term

but at the end of the day, none of these tea party candidates have much of a chance in a federal election vs. barack obama.  so go ahead and put them in the spotlight....

Obama is in a tough position because he doesn't really please the left and he sure as hell doesn't please the right. I just hope he doesn't go all republican on us like Clinton did after the 94 election.

Very valid point. As much as this seems like a "message to America", it's  all relative to the situation. This is a mid-term election. The Republicans won big because (and I'm actually a little shocked at this) because they mobilized their base. There is absolutely zero chance that any of these tea party guys holds any national weight against a mobilized Democratic/Independent base.
