I bought mine in 09 or 10, had 1 drive die in that time, and I just popped another one in, no problems.

I'd like to upgrade to the 5D to utilize the Thunderbolt connection, but that's pretty low on the priority list.

I got the 5D last year and absolutely love it - just a kickass backup, and so fucking fast...
