So, I get up in the morning to watch Boy Meets World. Yeah, its awesome.
The last episode on was "The Fugitive" when Shawn blows up the mailbox with a cherry bomb. In the last scene, there is this:

Winning!
I don't know if I would call portraying the show's juvenile delinquent as a deadhead as winning.
My younger sister used to watch that show. If I remember right the only reason to watch it was that I thought Topanga was hot, but looking back I don't really find her hot anymore. She's kinda got a big face.
I guess there are some people who missed the memo about using the term "winning"... it means you're probably about a year behind on a bad pop culture joke that should have died quickly.
Also, you watch TV in the morning?
Also, you watch Boy Meets World?

Ha.
Could just be a t-shirt the costume designer saw at a thrift store and figured was something a young hooligan would wear.

stick'd
Not only does he watch TV in the morning, but apparently Boy Meets World is the only thing that gets him out of bed.
Also, I heard that the kid on Two and a Half Men is into Panic, tiger blood!
I say winning all the time myself; I never really noticed other people using it lol.
I think you guys are reading too much into it; if the show wanted Shawn as a Deadhead, there probably would be a ton of other sightings but this one is the only time I think it happened.
Matt, yeah I watch TV in the morning because I'm currently at home studying/training for the licensing exams to be an Edward Jones Financial Advisor. I passed my Series 7 Securities Licensing exam yesterday, and tomorrow I begin studying for the Series 66 Insurance Licensing exam.
And yes, I watch Boy Meets World. It rules. You know that.

Yeah, and what the hell kind of name is "Topanga" anyway?
I just can't imagine a world where I would wake up in the morning and immediately queue up a 90s(?) pre-teen TV comedy on YouTube, then tell people on the internet that I did that.

Topanga was not hot. Boy Meets World still kicks ass.

I want the last 30 seconds of my life back. I'm fairly certain this needs to be nominated for worst thread of 2012, and ranking it top 5 of all time wouldn't be a stretch.
Interesting demographic phenomenon here, it seems if you were born after 1980 Boy Meets World is an excellent show.
If you weren't then you know that the only show with a Savage worth watching is The Wonder Years.
84'er here. Boy meets world sucks imo.
I have never seen this show.

Nooo no, its on TV. There play 3 or 4 episodes on.... i forget what channel, but when the Dead shirt came on I hit info to see what the episode was called, and then pulled that episode up on Youtube so that I could get a screen shot, because I searched google and couldn't find a previously-existing picture of him wearing it.

I'm glad its not on, because that would be a tough choice; both shows are excellent.
And I seriously don't understand why NOBODY here has gotten excited over a Grateful Dead reference made on a sitcom modeling upper-middle class America.
Its just a cool thing. Would you all seriously have nothing but negative comments if it were a Phish shirt?
Granted, it always seems to be the delinquint, because Hyde has worn Dead shirts at least once on That 70's Show.

Did you ever watch Yes Dear? They made lots of references to the Grateful Dead. How about Roseanne, she named her son on the show after Jerry.
Also, at the end of Freaks and Geeks the main character goes on Dead tour.
Lesson learned: The Grateful Dead are a part of popular culture.

When I watched that episode I pulled out my Deadbase and confirmed that the Dead were doing a week long run of shows from Texas to Colorado this summer.
It was disappointing in the film "The Music Never Stopped" when they didn't use a real show when it would have been so easy to do so.

I've always thought that as well with regard to the music never stopped. Still a good film though.
I know this thread is old, but I've noticed another time Shawn was wearing a different grateful dead shirt. Also the dad on the show gets his old band together, and they play good lovin'. The only reason I found this page is because I was searching to see if this was just a coincidence, or maybe one of the writers/producers was a fan. Who knows though, we're everywhere.
