It was a long pisser line during Mexi Cous.

Good seats once again, thanks to Pie-Guy!
I also took a piss during Mexican Cousin.  I'll never forget that trip to the bathroom.  The dose I got from an old head hit me like a freight train, and along with the chocolate I had eaten, I was on cloud 9.

Awesome read, so far, rj.  Thanks for all of this. :-)

its funny as i read this second night compilation i got this feeling of "...and, it's all over"  after the post of the length of the gumbo.

i mean, after all the years of anticipation, gumbo's crazy posts here, etc.---5 min.? lol, wow.

really was there any chance after that for 3.0?

game over.

But didn't we have an amazing time?

I'm so glad you came out for those shows.

So, I've been relistening to the shows as I've been compiling these posts... There is some nice stuff here.

For 3.0, that is.

That's a strong response. I certainly know that we had a blast and a whole nother show ahead of us too!
Hilarious LST on this night. The Gamehenge talk, seen through the power of retrospect, is just cracking me up. Bummed PhishPhan wasn't going to get his Mike's on Sunday but, oh well.

More next time...

I know it's a lot of reading but, I hope you guys are still hanging in there.
For perspective, I went through ~2000 posts to put this together.

We're gonna move into night three today and things get a little hairy.

But didn't we have an amazing time?

I'm so glad you came out for those shows.

So, I've been relistening to the shows as I've been compiling these posts... There is some nice stuff here.

For 3.0, that is.

Yep. The disease is easily one of the best 3.0 jams.

I plan on reading it eventually.  thanks for taking the time.

I've been thinking about Hampton '09 a lot lately.  I wasn't there but I remember the excitement.  I remember frantically hitting refresh constantly in the LST threads.  I remember the hub chatroom.

It's amazing how things have changed from my perspective.  I wish I still had that same enthusiasm.

Tweereprise as an encore tonight to finish the whole thing off.

DWD opener.

fully agree 110%

although 2001 > Tweeprise would be cool too.

Quote from: PhishPhan on March 08, 2009, 08:27:04 AM
Made a list of songs that should be played tonight, by process of elimination.

DWD
Lizards
Mockingbird
Forbin's Ascent
46 Days
Walfredo (Eh)
Fee
Velvet Sea
AC/DC Bag
Free

Simple
Axilla
Bathtub Gin
BBFCFM
Camel Walk
Curtain
Wilson
Tube

Tela
Harpua
My Sweet One
Guyute
Slave To The Traffic Light
Llama
Sloth
Sparkle (Meh)
Destiny Unbound
Golgi Apparatus
Gotta Jibboo
TMWSIY
2001

These are some I though of last night after I heard the news of Mike's Song and couldn't sleep. Thinking A-Z it's pretty easy to remember the songs. Quite a lot of Gamehendge songs, I think the only one used so far are Divided Sky, PYITE, and Possum. These are all original songs too. Care to add (or take away) songs to our list of hopefuls for tonight?

Strong list... I've taken the liberty of bolding those which actually were played.

Plus, I was there so... That would have been nice.

Quote from: shoreline99 on March 08, 2009, 11:22:59 AM
I don't see a gamehenge either, but that's just my $.02. I could see a Harpua, with narration covering the last 5 years, but not the full story.

Quote from: Marmar on March 08, 2009, 11:45:48 AM
Ok...listening to last night, it's getting better.....

The Reba was promising....weird that the flubs happened in relatively easy sections, and the majority of the insane composed parts were nailed....well. It's Ice was done well....I liked hearing Page's tune....it seems like that might get a workout.....Guelah was executed well, a lil slow, but well....funny Trey still can't remember Hydrogen.....'Paug was decent....any show without Zero is better than one with one, and this is no exception....encore was perfect....

MUCH better.....MUCH......tonight should be a step better yet....

EDIT: I like this trend of non-funk/fewer covers.....I think they got into a huge rut playin that all the time.....it also helps that Trey is awake the entire show now.....

You'll never earn you satin hater's club jacket like that!

Huh?
My Jezmund Decoder Ring translates this as:
"I like 'Army of One'. I saw Page perform that song for the first time at the Electric Factory Vida Blue show."

I'm all for a long Tube, but they've been playing with some ferocity which compensates.

I respectfully disagree.
Seems like they are going through the motions.

Maybe an adjustment period?
Not a bad thing at all but they are not ferocious or on fire.

And so begins a classic 3.0 debate.

old Tubes were never long jams...wasn't until much later...the cow funk era...that Tube became a real jam vehicle
I realize that but free was a vehicle and none of the songs have been
any sort of vehicle.
There is no jam in this jamband right now

I'd probably be more likely to say that this "jamband" has less jam, but def not none.  I'm kind of glad.  IMO, 2000 and PH got a little jam oriented and everything had to be rocking and on fire with less emphasis on space.  I'm really enjoying the Stash jam from night 1.  It's a bit spaced out and not all up in my face, but still very enjoyable.

nice set on paper. Thanks for the play by play RJ

Woah...
Wild set with a bit of a sag in the middle and suddenly things got a little heated in the LST.

Will Phish pull out of that set one nose dive?
Will Jezmund post a coherent complex sentence on his phones?
Will someone have to suck newplanet's cahk?
Who the hell is voopa, anyway?

These questions and many more may be answered in the exciting conclusion of Hampton '09 Remembered!
