Anybody catch Jack White on Austin City Limits tonight?  Wow... It was really freaking great. I'm not the biggest fan, but it was really good.
I've been coming to where I am from the get go
Find that I can groove with the beat when I let go
So put your worries on hold
Get up and groove with the rhythm in your soul

Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child
2010 documentary by  Bob Smeaton

It wasn't bad as I remembered it.

Watched this again since I'm in the midst of reading the expanded 2012 edition Jimi Hendrix: Musician by Keith Shadwick. I like it a lot so far.

 :phish: Coral Sky

i always enjoyed listening to what karl perazzo added to this show, but watching him hold on for dear life during some of those jams was a bit odd.

i love how over the years after all the pressure of the halloween show had passed, phish just enjoyed getting back to the fun of being phish.  the next set or next show was always a monster...

11/2/94 Tweezer
10/31/95 III YEM
11/2/96 Crosseyed>Antelope
11/2/98  Dark Side

here's to hoping for a halloween show this year that occurs smack in the middle of a tour.

i used to hang out there every thursday night for vance kelly.  place was in the hood but was also the most diverse and welcoming place i have ever been.  the stones went there just about every time they were in town.
sadly it is no longer.

You know the place is cool if Vance Kelly plays there! I used to see him at Rosa's Blue's Lounge. Also in the hood. His backing band was the Backstreet Candy Lickers, and they had a song, Candylicker, a love song about licking puntang. Great stuff.

"I wanna be, your candy licker...."
Yes!  that is awesome man.  i have never been to Rosa's but he plays up the street at Kingston Mines and BLUES.

the story he tells of the first time he went down on a chick is priceless.
last time we saw him we made sure he played that.
