well thanks for the links.... but wow, i sure hate death metal! i tried listening to one track all the way through and just couldn't make it. what they're doing may not be at all easy, but i can find no pleasure of any kind in listening to it.

I was a little goth (well, I was really into NIN and Marilyn Manson if that counts in the 90's teenage context) way back in high school (93-97).  I never read any Lovecraft back then, I was more into Beat Poets like Kerouac or Ginsberg.  I still don't get it.

haha but you guys have it all wrong tho.  Morbid Angel isn't your typical gore death metal band singing about impaled babies and vomiting on a half-eaten corpse.  i hate that shit.  Morbid Angel is all about spiritual and philosophical things, but the way they write is that they dress it up in metaphors of "evil" stuff i guess, like demons and hell and stuff like that.  Like...  it makes sense in my head because i was like that...  like...  ok, its like how "hippie" people and jamband fans like "trippy" stuff, like mushrooms, elves, gnomes, fractals, etc and stuff like that on posters/album covers/t-shirts/etc.  The evil stuff is the same concept/idea, just different.  I mean, i still like the "evil" stuff, demon imagery, the gates of hell, HP Lovecraft's monster gods from the 4th dimension (Cthulhu, Azathoth, Nyarlathotep), and stuff like that.  Its not serious in that its not actually satanic stuff, unless you get into the Satanic religion, and not Christian satanism with the devil and stuff like that.  the satanic religion has the individual as god; you are in control of your world/destiny/etc. 

ok, but back on track.  here's the lyrics.  3 of the 4 were from the same album, Formulas Fatal To The Flesh, which was this giant...  epic masterpiece of philosophical art.  Its hard to explain over the internet... but ill try and find some more stuff to help you guys out, like interviews and stuff, so that you can see the philosophical genius behind this stuff.
