Have you ever been robbed at a Phish show?

I got this idea from another board, but after hearing some stories of people having stuff taken out of their tents, being stabbed, etc. at Festival 8, I was just curious if anyone here has ever been robbed at a Phish show?

As for me, I've never been robbed at a festival or show.  If I'm at a festy, I ALWAYS lock my stuff up in the car(even my sleeping bag/pad) when I'm not around my tent.  Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I like my stuff and don't trust people at all.

Yes. My car was broken into @ 12.11.95.

On my home turf, too. That sucked.  :-(

I also lock up everything at a festi and had never had anything taken

I discovered right before the evening sets on Sunday night that I had managed to run my battery down.  With the windows open.  So, I went off to the show with all my stuff ripe for the plucking.

When I came back from the show, everything was as I left it.  I consider myself very lucky.

Festival 8 was my 4th Phish festival and I have never been robbed.  I was robbed at Bonneroo in 2007. The folks camped next to us at Festival 8 did say that they saw security going into empty tents and they were taking glass.

a few times....The worst that I can specifically remember was 7/3/95 Sugarbush, last show of the tour....A ton of people had their bags piled up around one of the lift poles and when we went back I heard other people (not my friends) start going "where's my shit"  We started looking for one of our bags and it was gone too.  Bunch of cash, drugs and car keys (which was really the worst part).  Had to get a locksmith  on 4th of July, and we had to get a new VW key made, it was a hassle.....I kept hoping that whoever found the bag thought the big bag of mollie was blow and did a HUGE line of it.  I was really pissed at the whole scene after that, but still did a ton of the Fall tour.....

Worst that ever happened to me was at Great Woods in 1992,  :phish: opened for Santana. I rode in with aabout 20 kids in one guy's mom's Suburban. Einstein left the car unlocked and windows down. We got back to find all the beer gone, along with my safari hat. I was pissed; I got over it.

The closest to being robbed I've come was a guy who may or may not have been Security took my bowl and a small jar of nugs at the Trey '99 solo show at the Murat Theatre. The fact that I wasn't escorted out and/or arrested has made me question the guys 'Authority' all these years later.

You haven't lived until you've had a robot shart in your ear and followed along in the live setlist thread while it happens.

Only problem I've ever had was getting our car broken into while seeing Phish at Jazzfest - highly doubt it was Phish-heads as every car on the street had been broken into... like 25 cars! Besides the annoyance of the busted windows, all they really got out of there were tickets for the next day at the fairgrounds.

i've been really lucky and never had anything jacked but....

last summer in PA i walked from the camp grounds to the show. i noticed this dude was pretty pissed and i asked what was up and he said that his friends left the car unlocked and someone jacked his tickets to deer creek and alpine too. i think i might have gave him my last beer i was carrying.

my group got robbed at IT, well sort of.  our neighbors took my two awesome folding chairs and replaced them with their two shitty broken chairs. and also took my buddies back pack, but he actually found it about two tents over everything was there except his binoculars.  ever since then everything of value goes in the car.  and i saw someone who appearently was trying to steal 1000 dollars from someone at 8.  he got chased through my campground(Lamb lies)by the dudes it belonged it but it was friday morning and the two tackled him in no time.  FUCKIN WOOKS!!!!

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

I'm not trying to get all L.A. law on you, but most of what's being described is theft, and not robbery. The simple difference is the use of force or threat of violence.

Either way, I have never experienced anything being lifted at a show. I had a hotel and a Tent at a 8, with no way to lock the stuff up in the tent. Now of course i didn't leave anything in the tent that had any real value, just a sleeping bag, and warm clothes for the night sets. (I guess i could have brought a luggage lock, but it just seams silly to put a rinky dink lock on a tent. Although, I think that would draw more attention to the tent from any shady on looker than just zipping it up and leaving).

For Coventry we didn't even have a tent, we walked in with what we could carry. Along the way we picked up a gazebo from a group that was tired of carrying it (paid about 50 bucks total/5 per person). We didn't leave anything of real value, but left a few things under it and everthing was right where we left it when we came back on Sat night.

I would never tempt fate and leave anything of real value in a tent, but your every day stuff like sleeping bag, some clothes, etc i wouldn't worry about it too much. I would worry more about my car in Camden than anything left in a tent at festival.

I read the book, saw the movie, but the show was better than both of them...

Never burgled or robbed at shows, though I've been at the receiving end of bad deals...

Oh! That! No, no, no, you're not ready to step into The Court of the Crimson King. At this stage in your training an album like that could turn you into an evil scientist.

Yeah Lope... you were there, thanks for reminding me man....  :-(
Got my pack jacked this year at Gorge. Nothing more than a few articles of clothing. NW String Summit batik hurt but whatev. Got a good amount of redemption with a couple sick new 8 shirts. I wasn't about to get robbed at 8 and didn't hear of any problems, other than the neck stabbing of course. Could have been smarter at the Gorge, but I guess I hadn't learned that lesson yet. I blame the nitrous mafia...

My story is similar.  Alpine, I think 98, parking lot.  Just pulled in.  Two dudes and a chick walk by, stop and come back.  My buddy was just rolling a joint and i had a bowl in my hand.  Buddies in teh back were chilling, waiting to hit the bowl.  The "cops" flash a badge quickly and proceed to confiscate buddies bag and my bowl.  Search friends in teh back and threaten to search the car.  Took our stuff and left.  I still had a bunch of bud hidden away, but it still sucked.  To this day I never believed they were real cops, but didn't want to push the issue at that moment and get arrested.
