The worst is finding one that isn't in there.

Doubly so when it's a jazz or bluegrass record.

So many notations.

You must be OCD like my wife. Whenever I run into that I just think, "oh well. Guess I won't catalog that one."

I kinda went with the "Fuck it, close enough" philosophy.

My philosophy as well.

yeah, some of my obscure jazz records dont even have codes.  trying to input my zappa bootleg made my head spin and the fact that they still might reject it, no thanks.

I use records for that and don't have to justify it to my friends.

i'm not even gonna try...  most of my vinyl is old death metal stuff independently released as like, demos or self-financed singles 'n stuff.  Super rare, commanding big bucks on ebay (like $50 for a 7"...  old Incantation, Absu shit).

I think the most I ever paid for a vinyl so far was around $110 for a copy of Krisiun's demo/comp "Unmerciful Order" from Brazil.  It only existed as a self-financed cd, and the chance to hear it on vinyl was just....  ughhhh yesss.

Close 2nd is Immolation's "Dawn of Possession" debut, which was about 80-90

I think I got it but he's such a spaz he'll probably never open this thread again

I'm 98% set up on this, asides from a handful of indian disco records I snagged from my folks, which I might try and add in anyhow. I like discogs. That is all.

I have with no issues.  pretty sure I've only gotten international sellers coincidentally.

thanks
this one is cheaper than I've seen elsewhere and described as VG. I've seen VG/VG+ and rarely played in the same relative price range (although a few more $) and a couple that are just ridiculous. I'll probably go for it.

came across a few others not in the database. One Duke Ellington compilation, one Dizzy compilation. Not feeling OCD enough to add any more at this point.

on the other hand, a bit upset over what's missing from my collection. The stuff I really wanted was replaced in one format or other. I haven't been looking for the other missing discs in over 25 years , but it feels like part of the story of my is missing.

I've purchased at least 10 or so times and have sold that many or more.  Only had one bad experience where I got something listed as VG+ and it was G+ at best.  Complained and got a rebate since it was a shop.  Point being, it's pretty reliable and easy to work with.

The few times I've bought off there it's been pretty painless. If I'm really hooked on getting something and can't find it for months ill buy off there. Most sellers I've dealt with have been accurate with their descriptions.

I got a beautiful copy of Zappa's You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 2 It's a 4 LP box-set for $42 w/ shipping. It came on-time in one piece. I was pleased.

purchased and paid for - got an email 30 minutes later that it's shipped.

I had to break this out last night after your mention of it. Don't think I'd listened to it asides from the day I got it. Enjoyed it greatly as it fit exactly the mood I was in. Thanks.
