Never a huge Zydeco fan - but this guy was the king of it, for sure - at least for our generation. 

First time I saw him was Jazzfest 1996 - the year Phish played - BZ played right before the Allman Brothers on the main stage. I was zooted on psilocybin in preparation. That was the day I "got" the Allman Brothers Band.

While we're at it - time for a 2017 thread??
