satellite is not the way to go, imo.  from what i gather, speed isn't too much of an issue, but latency is a real problem...

Well, I am fairly new to BT. So if you don't mind me asking, how do I make sure I don't piss anybody off? That would include seeders, peers, my ISP, and my parents whom I share internet connection. Thank you!

All you experts out there-- is there a good web site that w/ info on uploading/seeding etc.. . I have gotten a decent # of shows saved on my hardrive over the past month and would like to statrt seeding, not just seeding after my download completes.

And how do I know how much I can upload or if I am capped?  I also share a comcast connection w/ 4 other computers so will this affect how much I can upload?  Any info or a web site to look at will be greatly appreciated.

to test your speed, go here

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

if you are on a wireless router, your UL speed should be what that test gives you.
i share a connection here, and we each get 220kb/s UL.

as far as seeding goes, i found this very helpful

http://week4paug.net/index.php/topic,3433.0.html

regardless of what client you use, it should have a "create torrent" option under "file".
and take it from there!

lmk if you get stuck.

I know that when I was seeding a lot of stuff I would often do that with downloads, so that my seeds would have loads of bandwidth...

It's not safe to assume that everyone who limits the ups and jumps off right away is a leech...but it's probably the case more often than not.
