Oh Shit!

Should be the same as the regular Ticketmaster on sale date.

It's a little pricey but we should all try to do terrace, it's totally worth it.

When was the last time a tour was announced this far out? Think they're feeling the competitive squeeze from Dead & Co.?

Bit of historical trivia: summer 2015 and Magnaball were both announced on 3/18/15.

Fest is still a lock.  Besides the obvious reason for holding back announcement (ie: sell these tickets first), they also don't even have a name for it yet.  They need to come up with the name (and witty website) before they announce.

Meanwhile, definitely in for Tahoe, SF, and LA.
Gorge would make it quite a week, but that might be a bit out of reach.

Dick's, on the other hand, might work out for me for once.

80% sure ill ride with ya for Raleigh MPP if you want. Looking at doing MPP > week at home > Watkins.
Put in for Dicks, going to go for Gorge and MPP at on sale. Didnt have a PAV only option for MPP so didnt pull the trigger.

Im unsure of what I'll be able to hit until I know my schedule but gorge and Watkins are high priority. Probably more west coast if my schedule allows....

Why the heck do they split up the west coast routing like they do? Tahoe > gorge then straight back down to SF is not easy! My brother also lives in LA so that's a potential

I'll have to see if that's feasible. That might be a super last minute decision depending on funds. I was looking at the calendar, and it might be tough with work doing 3 weekends in a row then Dick's right after.

Is this just a car fee? The text is suspiciously ambiguous.

We've been hashing this out on twitter all morning.
I read this as, vending will be in Lot F and you must pay $20 to get in. "Grant you access" implies that you won't be able to stroll in without paying?

Update: The venue says it's just an early lot.
See attached image.

It was the same last time Phish played out there... For $20 you can park in Lot F from 9am until noon the next day. It's a fucking steal, honestly. Regular parking lots are included with your ticket and open around 4pm and are cleared an hour or so post-show. VIP parking is also an option (and highly suggested).

The "Shakedown" verbiage is just because one of the main dudes that runs the place is a Phish head.

It's probably gonna be in the $450 range for three nights.

Pros:
Shorter/no line for shuttles
More bathrooms/showers
Larger campsite with picnic table
Better view
Can sort of hear sound check
Coffee and donuts in the morning

Cons:
Longer walk to gen camping
In 2013 high winds blew our ez up off a ledge and broke it

We should all definitely try to coordinate and camp in the same section.  If people don't want to spend the money for terrace I could do premier too.

Sweeeeet!!!!

I'll be putting in for a terrace campsite, camping with the best amenities, you can put up to six people in there and it's just me and my bro so let me know if anybody else wants in.

Gonna be awesome dudes!
when does one buy camping tickets to the gorge? My wife is on board and I'm now putting my chances at 99%

Oh Shit!

Should be the same as the regular Ticketmaster on sale date.

It's a little pricey but we should all try to do terrace, it's totally worth it.

Do you recall approximately how much the terrace camping was last time?  What are the main differences between terrace and premier?

It's probably gonna be in the $450 range for three nights.

Pros:
Shorter/no line for shuttles
Actual bathrooms/showers with plumbing
Larger campsite with picnic table
Better view
Can sort of hear sound check
Coffee and donuts in the morning

Cons:
Longer walk to gen camping
In 2013 high winds blew our ez up off a ledge and broke it

We should all definitely try to coordinate and camp in the same section.  If people don't want to spend the money for terrace I could do premier too.

FYP

Livenation site lists price range for camping tickets as $114-575 plus fees so I think we're looking at over $600 for terrace.  :|

Terrace is the only way imo. $100/person for 3 days is pretty reasonable if you ask me.

You'd pay more than that for your typical campground camping and it's not even 10% as much fun.

LOL at thinking an oversize, quiet campground with beautiful view, shuttles to and from the show, unlimited access to bathrooms/showers AND coffee and donuts for $33/night is a bad deal.

^ this.

Also regular Ga site is only for like 4 or 5 ppl i  believe and is 130 bucks so that's like 10 bucks a head a night. For just a grass patch that's like 2-3 miles away from the venue.

I'd pay 20 just for the closer walk before and after the show. But I'm also a lazy ass.

2016 def got lost for a good hour the first night cuz I didn't think to remember how to find our site in a giant campground that's in a circle.. That was fun. I also figured out a lot of people come from Montana since we were camped next to a Montana flag and I think I walked up to like 6 Montana flags to find our neighbors and none were them.

your numbers make sense if 6 dudes roll up in a car from seattle.  but if my wife and i want to camp in the "nice" campground, are you saying i should be happy to pay $600 for 6 shits, 2 showers, and a couple of donuts?

Ha, we wandered gen camping for half the night in 09 trying to find our camp.

Only time I've camped in general since was in 2016 when I did the camping + hotel extravaganza.

Yes.  If you ever want your wife to go to another Phish show and camp with, yes.  Consider it an investment in your future.  Have you been to Gorge GA camping before?  It makes Coventry look like Amy's Farm.

ETA: Gen pop is a fun place to visit but you need an escape route.

Going for Bill Graham in 15 min!

I just keep getting a "error with your search" message

That's what I kept getting this morning trying to get Alpharetta. Had to go through phone app to score.
I never used "best available" but only shit sections and lawns popped up for me. I didn't use the app I just called the automated service and scored pits.

TM sucks

Had six people working the Alpharetta onsale and it was remarkably tough. Who the fuck knew.
Tough to get pavilions or tough to get anything at all?

Tough to get anything at all. Lawns only started appearing late. We ended up mostly getting what we needed, with a couple holes still to fill.

And that's when the systems worked. There were search errors galore; I couldn't even get the pages to work in Safari, period. I tried the LN app and not a single thing, Phish or otherwise, would load into it.

Wish I'd known about that automated phone system. Might try that for the next rounds.

Yeah a friend of mine got floors for NYE that way. I didn't get shit for Saturday initially, it only lets you search so many times before it restarts. I just hung up called again about Sunday and got them first try.

Make sure you have the number for the specific ticketing agency.

So... it looks like I'm not going to see any of these July-August dates at all... including Austin... and I know the rumor mill says Watkins is a lock, but I'm not 100% sure I can even do that...

Long story short, I've decided to go for Dick's tickets today. It may be my only chance to see Phish this fucking year!

Basically, I'm most likely going to be working Lollapalooza, so the weeks leading up to it are going to be insane. I'll have to be in Chicago for 9 days starting Sunday 7/29. Phish plays Austin on 7/31. And there is no way I can take 4 days for the Gorge and expect to have everything done for Lolla that I need to do.

Watkins and/or Dick's are my only shots.

With proper flights you can get this done for like 350-400 bucks.
Denver > Reno > Portland/Seattle > SF > Denver.
United/American/Spirit/Frontier all have decent priced flights to those areas. You can probably get some for even cheaper if you wait for the email promo codes deals from Spirit/Frontier.

ETA just did the search through Kayak and it was 400 bucks right now. Might even be able to get it cheaper if you wait a little.

i'm glad somebody responded!  it seems like no one really cares about this, and here i am having a very hard time getting over it.  back in the 90's when i was just learning the ropes, selling tickets for above face value was a serious no no in the how to be heady handbook.  i've sold tickets for some pretty hard to get shows at face+fees for 20+ years, and i've always had pretty good phish ticket karma because of it.

however, it seems like ever since gd50 and the insane amount of scalping that went on with those shows, the rules of old have gone out the window.  so it's ok to scalp phish tickets?  phish is doing it, so it must be fine.  so i'm going to mail order 50 times for new years and sell any extras at a 150% profit and no one can say anything bad, right?  if i don't, i'm a sucker, right?

that's what we want to believe, but don't kid yourself.  that would mean that phish doesn't control their own website.  Phish's management knows exactly what is going on with their tickets.  they announced summer tour early and waited until enough camden and mpp tickets sold.  they also waited until enough east coasters decided to pull the trigger on a pilgrimage to the gorge.  then they dropped curveball at precisely the right time to maximize those sales.  it's a business.  but something stinks.

now, i don't think the band is very much involved.  i'm sure they are aware of it.  probably at a meeting it was mentioned that "we're going to sell 0.5% of good seats at a premium and give the extra money to waterwheel."  harmless enough when presented to people who don't really care, but phish's team had to sign off on it.

they know we know maaannnn

I mean it is definitely a business. But I've also noticed since they've been back they have been offering more fancy packages for various things. Look at Mexico for example, there's no way some tour kids are gonna reasonably get there and pay for that experience. But maybe Phish is offering stuff like this because they can now. It's the proponent that their fans have grown up and a lot of them have stable jobs and don't tour with the band anymore. So with stuff like that it's almost like an awesome super fancy Phish vacation with all the perks. But that's just my 0.02

They changed it.  It was up there for several days.  To me, that says they want to separate themselves from these platinim seats because of the opinions of some of their fanbase.  I would prefer it if they said no to offering platinum seats at all because of the opinions of their fanbase and long time members of their management.

I'm quite certain the pressure to offer some platinum seats came from management with Phish's response being "only if we can siphon a chunk of it off to our charity arm." It's not that different from the CID packages they've been offering for years.

The biggest thing Phish does to limit the extraordinary scalping profits is keep just about every show from having a "front row" by using "pits" when possible.

Also, as much press as the exorbitant prices FTW tickets were fetching, it should be noted that there were very few tickets available on the secondary market for those shows. Shapiro actually did a good job of getting the tickets into the hands of fans. At no point did I see stubhub inventories for any Soldier Field show that were above 1000 tickets. That's 1-2% of the tickets sold. Compare that to the 6000+ tickets on stubhub for the Hampton 2009 shows - it's likely close to half of all the tickets for those show were in the hands of scalpers.

The addition of platinum tickets for Phish shows is mildly unsavory to me. Honestly, it's less unsavory than taking away the downloads and replacing them with "streaming rights" for shows.

It's not the huge scandal some phish heads have made it seem. Phish plays livenation venues and still has enough sway to run their own mailorder for tickets - they likely see the platinum thing as "throwing a bone" to livenation.

Disagree, while I doubt I would ever buy a CID package it's a pretty different product since it offers the value of not having to book a hotel as well as other little perks like swag.

Platinum seats is just straight up band endorsed scalping and goes against everything Phish has stood for over their 35 year history.

It's gotta be soon since Curveball wristbands and car passes are being sent out late June / early July. It's a different company but still.

This place is the best. Don't y'all forget it.

Every once and awhile I succumb to the evils that are PT and... goodness.

If you just visited that junkyard of thought you might think the band  is dunzo.

But... man, I'm still all ears and..... they make great sounding music. Trey sounds.... pretty much the same as ever (3.0 ever) to my ears (meaning, slow... out of ideas... yet, still TREY... when he's got it he's got it). The band outside of Trey sounds great (again, par for the course) and so much deep musicality is happennging.

The shirt for this tour, and the webcast package, is "I Saw It Again". They have definitely been using the 'callback/reprise' technique a bit more than usual this tour too. I'm betting it's intentional to make the tour name fit.
